  • SEMI-OFF Topic - Hey rep: out of interest, Ive bought a varied number of these designs - not particularly this brand (couldnt say which one - but around the $200-$300 mark normally….and blow me down they loose either high speed or low speed - it just runs one speed no matter what we set em to.

Whats the normal go? - they typically act up around 2 years into their life, yet the cr@ppy old-school type fans for cheap are now 5 years and no issues.

I'd be happy to get these as they are a nice looking unit - plus now led - ive still got the old bar-lamp type models - they look like nice kit!!!

      Hi.

What normally causes that is the capacitor in either the ceiling fan or the wall controller has failed.
Any number of things can cause this.
Usually these parts can be replaced, but not always and you are best to replace both the fan and the wall one at the same time.

However if you paid that much for the fans they will normally have a 3 year warranty so you might find that if you can get the details of them they might still be covered.

G'Day - firstly - many thanks for the quick reply!!!!

Ahh - ok, I'll dig up some old invoices from the other companies…..although I do need some work done - so I might just replace them all with your kit.

I appreciate your time to answer my question.

        Have a great day!!

  • In respect to the models with the remote, how does that work in respect to the normal light switch on the wall? Does the wall switch still turn on the light, and the remote controls the fan? We have avoided installing fans previously only because the wall light switch are on internal walls so can't add new cabling. Just wondering if the remote helps us get around this problem.

    • Hi.

Yes, the remotes are there in cases were you can't run extra wiring down the wall.
Basically you can control the fan and the light from the remote.
Or you can control the fan with the remote and the fan light via the light switch on the wall.

Just note you can't control the fan light from both the remote and the wall switch.
I needs to be one or the other.

      Hope this helps.

  • Hrm, any reason you cant put dimmable globes in to make the light dimmable? Specs say non dimmable, but wouldnt this depend on the globe and switching installed?

    • Yes you are correct.
If you purchase the E27 Version then you could put in dimmable LED globes and add a wall dimmer to control them.

  • Hi rep, can you please tell me the difference between 3 blades and 4 blades fans? I have been looking out for fans for a while, but the fans I am keeping an eye out for are usually 4 blades. I just want to make sure 3 blades would work just as well. Thanks.

    • To be honest a lot of it comes down to personal preference and the look you are going for.
I have got 3 blade fans that perform better then 4 and vice versa.
