    For the lazy:
250 Singapore Dollar equals 231.87 Australian Dollar

Crap used air bnb twice, oh well

  • Mildly related to the bargain and for the legally conscious, if you are travelling to Singapore, beware that not all properties can be let to Airbnb:
    https://www.quora.com/Is-Airbnb-legal-in-Singapore

There have been cases where the the property owner has been caught and forced by the Singapore govt to cancel bookings. I personally would not want to take the risk if travelling to Singapore. But to be fair, I've never had any issues when staying at Airbnb residences in other countries.

  • Strange. When I try to apply the code it gives an error that says the minimum trip amount is $239aud. However my total trip booking amount is more than that.
It's almost impossible to get in touch with airbnb support thoughto sort it out. Quite frustrating.

I think they don't count the service or cleaning fee in the trip amount. It's frustrating as the room cost for the place i wanted was $238 aud.

      • Yeah that seems to be the case. Oh well. Cheers

    • service fee most likely not considered in minimum spend.

  • Thanks OP. Saved me $134 for our trip which I was going to book with Airbnb anyway. Though our trip is 6 month away…

Airbnb is considered illegal in Singapore.Be careful if you book.

    • I thought so as well. But a good deal if you get away with it. Personally I wouldn't risk it.

      • Wait so if you book a stay with AirBnb in Singapore can you be charged?

"Private apartment owners who rent out their apartments or rooms on a short-term basis on websites like Airbnb may soon be flouting the law.

Parliament passed a new law on Monday which makes it illegal for such home owners to rent out entire apartments and rooms for less than six months, unless they have permission from the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) to do so."

I believe that the host is more at risk. But I wouldn't really wanna (profanity) around searching for a new accommodation.

        • @D3NI3D:

well at least this will be my bargaining chip when cancelling the reservation and rebooking another accommodation to get the discount. :D

  • Van this only be used in SG?
Also I wonder if other currency's/cities work
    Eg CITIAU?

Can I use this in Aus and change my currency to Singapore dollars? Is that the deal?

  • can this coupon be used for AirBNB bookings in other countries (i.e. NOT Singapore) ?

  • Booked a place in Harrietville VIC for April. Was perfect timing and saved $65. Thanks OP!

  • Nice saving, thank you.

  • Used for an AirBNB in Nashville, USA. Worked :)

  • Do people use airbnb as a replacement to a hotel? never used it and am interested as i'm doing a few countries in Europe in the middle of the year.

  • Booked 2 nights in New York, thanks OP. Just tried again for some other nights, and it says it's no longer valid. So I'd say the 1000 codes have been redeemed.
