A few days ago, I was shopping for a Nikon D750. The cheapest at that time was Ted's Cameras for $2599.95 (after discount $2079.96) which I thought was an acceptable price and can claim TRS. Literally the next morning, I realised that Dick Smith (Kogan) had relisted their DSLR cameras from this deal on the Nikon D500. I started wondering if they were being fulfilled by Kogan AU instead of Kogan HK. The difference is that one would include the GST component and the other won't. So I started this thread to check and I concluded that it was too good to include the GST component.
However, Dick Smith had finally gotten back to me and confirmed that it does indeed include the GST component. This means it is $1802.39 after the 20% eBay discount AND you can claim TRS on it (which is another $163.85 or $204.82 depending on the amount the invoice shows.
Now I'm crying so hard on the inside because I had picked up the camera from Ted's Cameras this morning and they do not offer refunds on change of mind.
Also be mindful that this is an international model which means if there's any issue, you will most likely have to go through Dick Smith (Kogan) for warranty repairs or replacement (which involves sending it back to them).
This camera is pretty awesome for its price. It uses FX lenses, allows video recording at 1080p @ 60FPS, has many AF points, accepts SD cards (which is more common and cheaper than CF cards, built in WiFi (for transferring photos to phones and computers). Definitely a must for prosumers.
Also note that this is just for the camera body. You will need a FX lens.
Nikon D750 Full Frame DSLR specs:
- 24.3 megapixel FX CMOS sensor
- 51 AF points, 15 cross type
- SD card slots
- Tiltable 3.2" RGB monitor
- Built in flash
- Built in WiFi

Here's also all the other Nikon cameras they are offering which I assume would similarly have a GST component.
Just make up something to get the return
