  • this probably lies between a 1060 to 1070 yeh?

    • +2

no its equal to 1060 more or less depend on the game

      • Why is this one so cheap?
Is it basically because it's not nvidia?
Feel like I would have been better off just buying 2 of these instead of 1 of the ones I got :/

  • +2

What kind of chips costing that much lol?

    • Silicone chips?

  • +2

Potentially the new Radeon Vega will be released pretty soon so might be better to wait till that comes out.

    • Is that one the same level as this? Just curious as to how much it will be a substitute to this

      • +1

Sorry I should have clarified that the reason for the wait is to further drop the price for the rx480.

      • No. The midrange cards (560 / 570 / 580 ) are just rebrands, same thing in a new package with a few tweaks.

Vega will be much more expensive.

    • hmmmmmm decisions decisions… buy now or wait…

    • Still probably about 2 to 3 months away, if I remember rumours correctly

      • I think they are bundled with Prey from Bethesda so i think will be released on april or may, who knows

  • Do they provide tax invoices? Since it is dispatched from Melbourne

  • I heard that the Gigabyte G1 version of the RX480 got some thermal issue

      • followed by https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWASNajSdpg - currently $339

        • One question guys, i've been trying to find a 1.2a display port cable with no avail since i wanted to use the freesync on my monitor,
Can anyone give me a link or anything that could help me find it?

      • wow, that card gets mighty warm with the windforce cooler. I think Ill wait…

    • +1

I have this card. It's idling on desktop at 49ºC and in game at ~70-75ºC
It CRUSHES any game @ 1080p which is its target res.

      Bargain at this price.

  • Sometimes thw rx480 can drop to 300 or even 290 in some cases, still good deal

  • Tempted. I already have 1 and for this price, should I crossfire?

    • I'm in the same boat. The only thing you need to consider is that the power draw for 2x RX480's in crossfire is apparently close to 440W. So make sure your PSU can deal that sort of love :)

  • Also, this card can be a nightmare to get stable when you first get it.
See here for the steps to take. Once you find the sweet spot the card is rock solid stable.
