It's a to tuner like on your tv

  • Does it work with USB type C?

    • only with a micro to type c adapter….

      thank you for that,

it has convinced me not to get one ;)

Works great if you live directly underneath the transmission tower.

I was in the city and tried using this and had zero luck…. if u use the coaxial adapter and plug it in with your house antenna it should work fine… useful possibly to people who use android tv boxes??

      • Potentially, but you'd also need a micro-usb to USB adaptor too.

Reception with the supplied antenna is not great but nothing would be :-(… it does come with an adapter so you can use regular antennas.
I made a small antenna using a balun and a couple of bits of thin wire… works well on my HP tablet.

I bought one of these the last time they were on sale. The reception was so bad it was worthless. Much as I love a bargain $14 for no return ain't such a good deal in the end.

Yeah I remember that… here are the other 2 threads when the deals were on

  • It depends on which phone you use it with. I have tried it with Samsung S6 and Htc One M7. With S6 it works very well. Have used it at opera house to watch the One day series between Aus vs Pak, as 9Now won't allow to watch the match online.

I had one, couldn't get any watchable reception. Also it heats up like a motherfather

  • I wonder how this would fare with an Android media box. Plug in the coax and a HDD/MicroSD for a DVR?

  • Will this work on Windows?

    • No. But there is a Freeview app with all channels live.

  • I use one at work 6104 and its fine mostly when stationary

  • Ihave this and works good

But these days just get an app called "Freeview FV" from the app store and its most channels live on your phone but using data.

The dlink device does not use data.

  • Bought one yesterday seeing it was $14.

Have 2 of my android phones to no avail.
One phone detects the tuner but the app crashes and the other app works but doesn't detect the tuner.

Tried after market apps, with the same result. Annoying to say the least
