Btw, once you unlock this the bands available on this phone will still not work great with vodafone or telstra.

    • It“unlocked

      • no

        It“s unlocked

          No.
          It's unlocked.
          ;)

    • Thanks for the warning

    • Does that mean it doesn't support Voda or for that matter any other provider for 4G ?
      Very keen on getting one

    • What bands does it support?

      • I updated the deal to include some info

  • I have this phone. Great value. Shame you can't unlock it to Vodaphone though.

  • Guys, I am still confused - Is it locked or unlocked ?

    • +2

      semi locked.

      • Wow - what does that mean ? I am keen on buyin' this and not interested to go with Optus..

Locked. Can be unlocked. But bands limit the providers it's compatible with even when locked.

      As per Unlock Page

If you change providers (port out) before 6 months of activation:
Provided that you've recharged your Prepaid service to a minimum/accumulated amount of $80 there is no fee, otherwise a fee of $80 will apply to unlock your prepaid handset regardless of the amount you've already recharged.

If you change after 6 months of activation:

Provided that you've recharged your Prepaid service to a minimum/accumulated amount of $80.00 there is no fee, otherwise a fee of $25 will apply to unlock your handset regardless of the amount you've already recharged.

  • need a new phone… this or a xiaomi RN4?

    any advice

    • Better phone or warranty. The choice is yours.

      • the F1S is VERY borderline for the money… 720p? 1.5ghz octocore? Mali gpu? barely there

        the 3/32gb is nice though

    • My advice would be to get the Redmi Note 3 Pro. $100 cheaper than the 4, and performance is comparable.

But between the 2 you suggested, I'd go with the Xiaomi. I've played around with MIUI and ColourOS and I like the apps that come with MIUI. Not sure about Oppo's Android updates, but Xiaomi are pretty good… provided you get one of their popular variants. Take the Redmi Note 3's for example. The Helio variant isn't getting much love compared to the Snapdragon. So if you ARE going for the Redmi Note 4, go for the Snapdragon one.

  • so title needs to be updated - Its Locked to Optus

This phone doesn't have LTE Band 5, which is what Voda and their virtual operators uses so if you are one of those peeps on Kogan SIM this is probably not going to be the best choice

It's also missing 3G 850mhz so this is also a poor choice for Telstra users.

  • It's worth pointing out, how you will find the phone depends on what youy are coming from.
I bought one of these for my wife last week. She had an iPhone 4s (for 6 years!) and she LOVES the Oppo. Much faster, screen is good enough for what she wants and, at least for now, it works just fine on Vodafone. We ported out the number because there was a special on Voda (a $30 prepaid for $10 at Coles, mentioned elsewhere on OzB).
Unlocked it for $18 via Bag_Man who, as usual, was fantastic.
The F1S is not a Samsung S7 but for $200 and change, it is pretty impressive.

  • Is this dual sim phone?

    • Optus version is single sim, but if you buy international SIM-free model yes.

  • this or a $323 moto G4 plus???

    • Moto. Faster Android updates, better hardware, better GSM and LTE support.

Oppo do not update there firmware after initial release
      just minor tweaks

Oppo confirmed its not getting android 6

(this applies to all there phones)
