Wow 4.5 health star rating looks like i will be eating Milo for every meal!

  • +8

Cheaper to buy 1.2kg of sugar

  • +8

    80c per 100g ? 46.4 gram of sugar net worth 5c approx.

Nearly forget about the link: https://www.milo.com.au/milo-products/milo-powders-liquids/m…

    • +1

      Beat me to it :).
I was just googling to get some links to prove the high sugar content in milo.

  • +2

How much did milo pay for the 4.5 health star? A serving is nearly 50% sugar

    • The 4.5 health star for Milo is based on a preparation of 20 g of Milo in 200 mL of skim milk.
If you swap the skim milk with reduced fat milk it's downgraded to 3 stars.

      • +1

In other words, they paid a shit tonne.

      • +4

Of course, because with less fat the sugar will be digested even faster.

This is the kind of lunacy you get when the food processing and retailing industry sets the health agenda. Everything is geared towards pushing people to consume more such as when you use skim milk rather than full cream.

      • +2

So 4 of the stars are for the skim milk.
Milo by itself gets 0 or 0.5 star ….
        How's that for marketing.

      • +1

If you sprinkle a few grams on a salad it's probably five stars.

  • Is this nation wide?

That's not what negging is for. I could neg the entire front page because they're not in my area of 1 metre.

You need a bigger office 😁

        • +1

Well what's the hostility mate, I could have been more specific. It is not available in SA. Like some folks below here from SA confirmed it is not valid. Hence you need to be more specific of the states.

        • @cloudie9: Which is still not valid grounds to neg. That's what the report button is for.

I never really got Milo. As a kid growing up I was so disappointed to find out that Milo barely dissolves when milk is added.

    • same… I used to think milo was povo's nesquick

    • +5

      Dissolve? Milk?

As a kid you should be eating it straight out of the tin mate!!

    • +3

Its actually a good price however. Do you down vote all the junk food deals like KFC chicken nuggets etc ?

    • So don't buy it then, hippy.

    • +3

That's not what downvotes are for.

      • This is not what the comments section is for (I'm not a mod btw, i just like telling people what to do)

  • It was $7.50 for a 750g tin at woolworths last week

  • The big jar of Nutella 750g is only $7 too

  • Perfect fuel for my abs workout using the app :D

Woolies has 1kg for $10 at the moment which works out cheaper than Aldi here.

    • $0.80 per 100g < $1 per 100g
