Size & inscriptions on side of case make it a no-go for me.
    Good deal though

    • You can Dremel it off if you're handy with tools. But branding is over-kill. I have never read about anyone admiring it.

    • I'd buy it if they provided sandpaper with it :)

    • The Invicta's with the Seiko Auto Movement are a pretty safe purchase, also Amazon have one of the best reputations for customer service online.

The Invicta 8926 has a big following on Watchuseek for modding, which is basically the same watch as the grand diver but in a smaller case.

I grabbed the teal model of this earlier, and am well pleased. My wrist is ~ 22 cm circumference and I needed two links taken out for a loose but comfortable fit on the tightest setting on a bare wrist [12 mm adj, 4 holes available]. bear in mind that you would want this over a wet suit if you haven't yet been diving :-p It is quiet, eminently legible, but the lume is not as bright as I expected. I haven't had a chance to take it anywhere really dark yet tho, and can work out the time with relative ease in 'household' semi dark after ~ 2 minutes of dark [dim?] adaptation. I guess if anyone reading is planning to head down under 200ft ocean depth, you are probably planning on sporting a bit more higher specced kit that this.

The date adjustment on the first pull-out position isn't working on mine, but the hand-winding and second hacking are fine, and I can live with the occasional monthly need to wind forward if civilisation fails and I don't think to mark off a calendar. For those hoping for quartz precision from an automatic, I'm gaining about 1 minute a week wearing the watch for ~ 14 hours a day, with ~ 2 hours walking. Should the apocalypse come, it is a suitable weight for stunning small animals, and would function reasonably wheel as a wheel chock for a smaller compact vehicle but not a prime mover or SUV.

I like mine. For a good Seiko movement that could double as a rock hammer in a pinch, it was a bargain.

    • Thanks for the review terrys, sometimes the crown might not slot into the 1st pull out position properly to adjust the date.
Also did you try turning it both ways?

      • I did [ both ways]. There is a small clicking sound as I push and pull gently around the date-change position but no movement of the mechanism. I'm guessing [from a position of utter ignorance and no experience] that out of the at least eleventy-ten they made, this would be one of the few where the tolerances in the mechanism are at the opposite extreme ends of the curve on the two mating components. I hopefully believe any physical damage or mis-assembly would create further problems that this.

Really love the warnings about watch size! Another great post WatchNerd (28D)!

I have a variant of this watch (not this exact bezel/face combo) and I think it's great. I even bought my Dad a matching one. He loves it too. It is a very big, heavy watch, but if you're into that sort of thing it's great for the price. Obviously don't expect a Rolex for $130. I was worried about the inscriptions on the side originally, but it's not nearly as bad in real life as you might expect. I am very happy with it.
