Unfortunately I can't recommend Belong.
The service I'm getting on Belong which I've been using for 9 months is quite poor - congested during peak and strangely unreliable. I really don't know why as my line should be quite stable.
I've love to hear some positive reviews though.
The free adsl connection is great though. but I wouldn't choose belong alone for that reason.
Alternative would be exetel which has decent ratings on netflix from what I can tell.
Exetel are horrible.
Just go with TPG, they have decent infrastructure, good prices and won't kick you off for downloading too much like Exetel will.
While it seems odd you may not fully use the service as per the plan description, quite frankly I would actually prefer a provider that proactively manages network performance by removing those that are disproportionately impacting the service.
It's been working well for me at 2 addresses.
The last place I was in word only sync at 8meg but the speeds were mostly consistent between peak and off peak.
Here I'm getting about 20meg, which is also quite consistent
Guess it's a bit like pot luck when it comes to the exchange

Their customer service is horrible, have waited over an hour every-time I have rang them for issues.
There has been outages for over a day, no notifications or apologies for anything, no credits on account.
They blame it's NBN issues, whereas the next door neighbor internet is working.
Wont recommend.
So is this offer for students ONLY?
If so, how do they enforce it? Do you need to send a copy of a student card?

I have been very happy with belong with no setup costs and was connected within 3 days at 2 houses by comparison tpg takes 4 week or longer and then if you live in a unit you need a second tech to jump at the MDF long and expensive process.. the speed was good until they put me on a stable profile. I called up and asked them to change my line profile to the high speed profile which is done by telstra after that speeds went up again to normal within 30 mins.
Belong is terrible. Slow speeds! Glad we managed to cancel after all the complaining!
