I know of serious hunters that spend a lot more than this on binoculars. Mine are only worth $400 but they do the job :)

It's like high definition "movies" sometimes you're better off with the standard definition quality binoculars.

I am too embarrass to bring my binoculars out for recreational purpose.
how does it compare to the $29.90 pair? Is it better if I buy 40 pairs of the cheaper one, stack them together and the bird i'm watching will literally be touching my eyeballs?

There seem to be surprising good binoculars being made in China now - e.g. these Vanguard 8x42 Endeavour. I've bought 2 pairs for partner/kids to use. They aren't as good as my Swarovskis, but unless lighting conditions are difficult the difference is marginal - and the Vanguards were ~$300 on sale, the Swarovskii were $3k.

I find the Chinese made ones better then my Swarovskis, maybe I'm using them wrong?
