Huawei Watch 50% off - $359.50 at BNE International Airport Duty Free

130

Just passing through BNE International Duty Free and noticed a clearance table.

Current model Huawei Watches are marked down 50% off RRP - I saw both the Black Metal link and Silver Metal link. Not sure about Classic or Silver Mesh. There were about 8-9 on the table.

Some boxes were opened, but didn't look like demo stock. Definitely a great price for those travelling thorough here.

    Whats 50% off rrp

    • +1

Discounted price looks to be $359.50 from the price tag.

      • -2

That's for the most expensive Black Metal Link. The Stainless Steel Silver link is ~$300 from memory of RRP.

    Have a safe trip!! :)

EDIT: Wait, this made me wonder… Arrivals or departures?

  • +2

    Departures.

Sorry should have specified. Will let you all know about arrivals in a few days.

The price is probably more important.

      • The price is probably more important.

        The place also important :p

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but this is the same at the same price right?
    https://www.mobileciti.com.au/huawei-w1-watch-stainless-stee…

    • Yes, same watch. Shops use the few years old rrp to inflate the value

      • So you think they be selling it for less if someone didn't imagine an RRP?

        • I think the rrp says nothing. McDonald's could put a rrp of $99 on the big Mac and sell it heavily discounted for $5. Rrp says nothing about value or real world price.

        • @dosada: Agree with you, RRP = Recommended Retail Price. Doesn't mean that retailers have to sell it at that price, it's just a pricing benchmark.

    • Not the same price point - thats the stainless steel mesh, the one I posted for around $300 is for the stainless steel link which is more expensive.

There are 4 models of the Huawei W1 - Leather Band, Stainless Mesh, Stainless Link, Black Link (least expensive to most expensive).

      • Oh nice. Thanks for correcting me!

    $359.50 after 50% off? Wow…
    So the RRP is $719???
    What are these things?

    • +1

Yes these particular SmartWatches are expensive, to get an idea of what the rrp is, Harvey Normans sell them warning, the prices are not for the feint hearted

      • Gasp! Can't …. .breathe…….

      • Holy Smokes are these watch even that good?

        • +1

          No.

        • They're constantly regarded as the best Android Smartwatch. Although, that's not saying much, smartwatches are pretty much useless.

        • @KLoNe:

Yeah I still like my analogue watch. Still not convince espeically with battery life and having to always recharge it.

        • It really comes down to personal preference, there are a number of Smartwatches out there to cater for different markets. They have their uses, just like those health tracking bands, some of these come with GPS, heart rate monitor etc.

        • @n00dles: lol, 'health tracking bands'

      • If you have to ask how much they are, you can't afford it.

dont know what is more surreal, a price inflated watch or sitting in the same terminal as another OzBargainer.

Nah I'm in the lounge. Won't say which. Even this is way too much interaction for my liking :)

      • On the contrary we often lock eyes and burst out laughing.

    • Hope you learned the special handshake

or sitting in the same terminal as another OzBargainer

Probably an Asian male wearing dad clothes looking intently at his phone

Just an FYI for those wondering whether they'll get any cheaper, I bought mine (black steel link) for $284 from memory from an offer posted right here on Ozbargin, the stock came from NZ though.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the Huawei Watch 2 is going to be announced soon, so that should drive the price down a little when that gets released.

    • How well do they function compare to the likes of Apple Watch and others?

      • I have had one for the past year and it has been great, battery life gets me 2 and abit days. Touchscreen/display are great, only just discovered that it has a speaker which you can listen to google play music. I have several expensive watches but after using this smart watch I really do feel lost without it.

        • Oh great, God knows I was missing listening to music on a watch.

        • @Diji1: hahaha exactly, just wanna walk around with the music pumping from my watch…

      • I find mine is great.

Simple to use, and also "looks" like a normal watch which is really important. Don't want some square blocky weird thing.

Only thing is it's slightly taller than a normal watch, but not too much to be annoying.

      • They both have their pros and cons, examples, Apple Watch has NFC whereas the Huawei Watch does not, however, the Huawei is more customisable in terms of designing and applying different watch faces just as an example. Not sure if Apply Watch will pair to an Android phone, but the Huawei Watch can pair and to an iPhone. Once Android Wear 2.0 is released (this month) it will allow iOS users to customize watch faces and I believe sync with certain apps in iPhone (don't quote me on this).

  • I use WatchMaker on my Huawei Watch with a Rolex Face from the Google+ group.

  • So is this after or before customs?
Do you actually have to be flying out to gain access to this deal?
    Pricematch?
Ad just came up on ozbargain….these are 0.50 more than mobileciti…suppose immediate pickup on this deal.

  • this or gear s3 for $100 more?

    • The S3 is sexy! but you're limited to Samsung's own OS which I think is Tzien or something, so you won't be able to install apps from the play store unless you side load it in or something.

  • Just a FYI there is still stock and I saw the stainless steel link model for $295
