  • Does it work with netflix tho?

    • No, it doesn't. Netflix knows when you try to use the PureVPN servers to change your location.

Weird. I use it all the time for this very reason. Perhaps I've been lucky for the past year and a half.

    • I think there's a catch to it. I'm using Ivacy VPN atm and they don't really offer out-of-the-box support for netflix either. I had to get it configured from their support. And based on what I've read, pure, air and other providers may be doing the same. that is, you'll have to talk it out with their support. If it still doesn't work, you always have the option to demand a refund.

Beware PureVPN's "refund policy". Their support makes you run data hungry tests that automatically make you violate their policy for the refund. They kept on asking me to run tests because the speeds were so slow and then when I gave up they were like, sorry, bad luck, you have exceeded 3gb of data. Very very dodgy practices by their part.

If people didn't already think a Ponzi scheme wasn't dodgy.

  • These lifetime subscriptions make no sense to me. I can't see any sound logic in such a deal. How can they maintain the service year after year with a one-off purchase? I'd expect quality and service to erode over time until you get fed up and leave. Makes no sense.

"I'd expect quality and service to erode over time until you get fed up and leave."

      Sounds like marriage :-(

    • I just asked the pureVPN sales agent and she stated that 'lifetime' only refers to 5 years or 'the cycle of products in the technology industry' - seems like a bit of sneaky wording - was a bit disappointed when i found out.

  • Gees I still got 5 months with Pia VPN dont know if it worth getting another one now for when it runs out, its the only way Ive been able to still see PB.

Code VDAY10 will also get you 10% off

  • I had to create an account just to slander these guys after stupidly getting 2 years of service from them and discovering they can't even do basic unblocking on censored websites in Australia. As mentioned by AncientWisdom, PureVPN has severe leaks, here's the link to his comment on a similar deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/292846#comment-4456034

  • I've been with PureVPN for nearly 3 years. Apart from some initial problems with leaks and dropouts (without disconnecting) in the early days I have no complaints at all.
I also have another VPN (not a freebie) which is generally slower than PureVPN.
Since I signed up for 'life' ( now renew for free every 2 years) with PureVPN my other VPN will be discontinued when it's term expires.
