I get- Unfortunately, you are not eligible for this offer.

    • Me too.

      • me too thanks

  • +1

Thanks I sent myself a gift card

  • no go on link or code :(

  • Works for me

  • Are you on the Australian or US Store?
Cause when I buy them, I am presented with currency conversion fees.

    • Awesome, just bought myself a voucher.

  • I am in the US store. I find you get better currency conversion if you pay in $US even together with the banks conversion fee vs Amazon

    • +9

This is OzBargain. Use the right card and there are no currency conversion fees ;)

  • so it says coupon been clipped but when i checkout with a e gift card it doesn't have the extra $10. Is e gift card correct?

    • +2

      Will come in 3 days.

You should see a message on the last page of the checkout advising a $10 credit will be applied to your account.

      • I don't see this message but when I press to add the code to my account it added okay. The checkout said nothing about it though. Guess I should cancel. I'm using my phone so not sure if that displays correctly or not.

      • +1

Just as an update I tried it just now from my phone and at the checkout it says nothing. Opened the page on my laptop and the promotional offer appears. Make sure you do this transaction from a computer and not a mobile :) works.

  • can you only get one offer? or can i get a couple? and $10 per time? accumulated?

    • +1

      ditto. Can i buy 10?

  • I think as per the previous deal, this may only work if you've never bought a gift card before.

I do know the code only works once per account.

I have bought Amazon GC many times in previous years, but not the past 1-2 years. I just bought a $50 GC, and it says I qualify for the $10 credit. Happy about that :)

Is there any expiry date on these gift cards ? To my understanding as per the below statement gift card don't expire

The portion of your Amazon.com Balance made up of Gift Cards issued after October 1, 2005 does not expire and may be applied to your Amazon.com account and applied to eligible purchases despite any stated expiration date. Expiration dates also do not apply for the portion of your Amazon.com Balance made up of any Gift Cards issued prior to October 1, 2005 in CA, CT, LA, ME, MD, MA, MT, NH, ND, OK, RI, VT, WA, or in any other jurisdiction solely to the extent prohibited or limited by law. All other Gift Cards issued prior to October 1, 2005 and the portion of your Amazon.com Balance made up of those Gift Cards expire in accordance with their stated terms.

    • No expiry on the funds added to your account balance after redemption (there is a message when you redeem stating this).

Not sure if there is an expiry on the actual gift card, there was no mention of an expiry when buying it, or when the e-gift card arrived.

  • can we buy multi cards and get multi $10 credits?

    • +1

      POSSIBLY!

I purchased a $50 card. Then went back and placed a purchase for another card. At the checkout page it had the same message "Congratulations, your purchase qualifies you for an Amazon.com credit. A $10 promotional code will be automatically applied to your account and emailed to you within three (3) days after shipping.".

Who is game enough to try? :)

  • So if you enter code and it says clipped does this mean it will work? I never followed through as it was asking me to confirm my card details even though I have used my account a million time times. So how do I know it works or has worked?
And I take I email the gift card to myself and 3 days later I get the $10 so after this I should be able to use the $10 and $50 together for an order.
So what is the charge someone mentioned about paying with your Aus card. I do have another card but no money in that right now. I would need to transfer money to it.
Is it worth using my card with no fees? As this could take a day at least to get there and I don't even know if this works

    • On the final page where you confirm the payment, you will see the following message at the top of the screen.

      Importane message:
Congratulations, your purchase qualifies you for an Amazon.com credit. A $10 promotional code will be automatically applied to your account and emailed to you within three (3) days after shipping.

      • If I follow to the final page but not purchase and it says I get $10 ,will I be able to use again tomorrow say? As I plan on using my other card to save on fees whatever how much they are but will be most of the day tomorrow before it get there.
Hate paying fees when I can help it.

        • +1

If you are asking whether you can use different CC to buy multiple GC in hope of getting multiples of $10, I am afraid the answer is no. It is in the terms and conditions.

Limit one Promo Code per customer/primary email address.

        • @sschen: sorry I don't mean that I don't know if I qualify as don't have my card on me as when I enter code it said clipped but for some strange reason it's asking me to enter my card details even though I have used my account a million times over, maybe it's this way when buying gift cards from them or a new security measure.
What I'm asking is say later tonightvi get my card enter it but don't follow through with order. If I try say tomorrow again will I still be able to use code.
I just transfer funds to my fee free card hoping this work so I don't have to pay fees.

        • @bwatt99:

I had to re-enter my Mastercard details again too when I made the purchase earlier.

        • @sschen:

Yep but what I'm asking is I just wanted to try see if it works for me the $10. I would go as far as last page but not buy.
As I'm waiting for funds to go into my fee free card and use that, but am worried if I enter code now not checkout if I can so again? I not be purchasing gift card just to see to see if I get it by doing a test run first.

        • @bwatt99: I was asked to input my full card number too, I think it's just a pre-caution for buying gift cards to prevent fraud.

  • Are you guys use fee free cards or cards with fees if so what's the charge

    • Use 28 degrees credit card or citibank platinum debit card. Both have no international fees / conversion fees and neither account has a monthly/yearly fee associated.

      • It's a citibank plus debit card

        • Yes my mistake, Citibank Plus not Citibank Platinum. Thanks bwatt :) got confused with my CBA platinum debit haha

  • Note: If the same as last time, I read through and that bonus credit expired in about 4-6 weeks.

Don't think I'll need to buy something in that time, so giving this a pass.

    • More like 8-9 weeks to me?

I believe the Promo code expires on April 16, 2017, 11:59 PM (PT)

  • Does it work if you open a new account?

  • +1

Can't get it work.. Tried on different accounts.. Also changed the country and billing address to US. Still get the error "
The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

  • So just out of interest in buying stuff from amazon in other countries is it better to use your card with whatever fees your bank charges or if you have a fee free card even better or better to use amazons exchange rate.
Is there a big difference on the two?
I have always used amazons exchange as i know what i be paying where as i dont know what i be charged with my bank card.

Maybe its time i stopped using amazon exchange rate or is there as said very little difference.

This would be with a card with no fees and card with citibank and westpac.

    • +1

      $65.29 (28 degrees) vs $68.17 (Amazon) for $50 USD

      • How do you know this already made purchase? That a bit of a difference there i have citibank plus.
Is there a way to know in advance what your charged with your card.
I have always used amazon exchange rate for purchasing thinking there not be much in it.
But that a good bit for such small amount.

        • Yep, I bought one before I shared this deal.

I've found the CC conversion rate is pretty close to what you'll see in Google, and always better than Amazon or PayPal converters.

        • @h4lcyon: so what you say here is just buying the gift card and pay in USD instead of AUD with Amazon conversion rate, right? because I just check my account and it said I am eligible to get $10 promotional code.

        • @ltvo3: Yes, if you use a credit card that has no transaction fees it will be cheaper that Amazon's conversion rate.

  • Unfortunately, you are not eligible for this offer.

  • When it comes to paying for this gift card its already selected my card as aud local currency and wants yo charge me in aud.
This i take is the amazon exchange option.
I take if i want to pay in usd then i need to select change that to usd onb that card?
Normally when i have placed orders in past which most if not all are i pay using amazon exchange there is a bit to click on.
But this is different it has to be done within the card details part.
So if i change this to usd then payment will go th through ok right i be charged to my card whatever my card charges?

    • Yeah, if you've set the currency on the card to USD then you don't get the radio buttons on the checkout page to select AUD or USD (since you've already set a specific currency for that card).

So you'll be charged in USD, and your card provider will convert it to AUD.

      • I think my card is always set im aud as this was usd i selected that by changing it under card details and it charged me the $50 usd.
Having a quick look on pending amount on card it looks like its come to less than what amazon was charging.
Shame i never done this in past as would have saved a bit more on past purchases.
I take its always better to use this option than amazon option.
What about market place sellers does this work same way?

  • Can anyone answer his please :) So if I buy the $50 gift card, can I then use that %50 card + the $10 credit to purchase anything? Thanks

    • +1

      Yep, that's what I did.

Bought the gift card, applied it to my account, waited (until the next day) for the $10 credit, then made a purchase using using $50 gift card balance + $10 promo credit + $5 referral credit I had.

  • +1

Thanks OP, I purchased from 2 different accounts and have already received $10 credit for both! Credit expiry is April fyi

  • Hi! Can someone confirm if you got an email to confirm the $10 credit? Cheers! Prav

    • +1

      Yep I did.

      • Hi OP, How long did it take for the gift card to arrive? I just purchased and requested for it to be sent to the same email account as my Amazon account but have yet to receive it. Did i just shoot myself in the foot by using the same email account?

EDIT: just received the gift card in my email. About a 5 - 10 minute wait. Phew!
