  • Download the Liven app for free from here
  • Create an account & find the Cardly profile on the app (go to featured section then scroll down until you see 'Cardly')

  • Visit Cardly to pick your card (only on desktop, not on mobile)
  • Enter your unique promo code (case-sensitive) at checkout

      I have read that whenever someone offers a free service/product, you are often the commodity being sold (or data about you) - eg free google search, free email, free classified postings, etc (free OzBargain posting?)

        I believe you are talking/thinking about reading the quote "If the service is free, the product is you" admittedly my steam bio for about a year.
        IMO It's deep and meaningful, unlike most of our valentines days are going to be.

      Yeah seems there is no search function, I just went to 'All' which is in alphabetical order then scrolled down to 'c', looks like the easiest way.

      Edit as per below, accessing from 'featured' might be best.

    Edit: I just ordered a free card, all seemed to go OK but you have to give your email up twice, and mobile up once (to Liven).
    As above you need to put in 5 valid reminders (which is validated before they send out your card). So seems like you can't put in 'fake names' such as ABC123, just put in random names like Henry and William.

      Wonderful! You get to give the name and address of another 5 (Five!) people you know to a data collection operation. I'm sure they appreciate the lengths you went to violating their privacy to get 1 free card.

      • Now, you see, all you have to do is get THOSE 5 friends to also sign up.. and if they then sign up 5 MORE each of their friends.. Well.. You've successfully joined an anti-privacy pyramid scheme!

      • Don't have to give the addresses to them, they're going to email you before each of those dates to try get you to buy a card for that person, it's a name and date only, and then when you set up a quick filter, anything that comes from them moves to the trash folder, so like not a problem at all for a free card

    • yep, just finished doing all that, needed to wait for an hour for the verification email to come through, too much of a hassle to get a free card if I knew before hand that I needed to do all that. Oh well, at least it's done now.

  • Liven informs me that I need to be a premium user to get the code. When I hit "upgrade to premium" it crashes :(

        Actually I managed to redeem! It's under "Featured" for me.

        • Oh really? I just clicked on the Cardly square under "Featured" and redeemed. I've only ever redeemed one Liven offer; the same Cardly offer last year so maybe it depends how many promos you took advantage of?

    We ordered the Christmas one. The card never came but got a bunch of annoyong promo emails instead. Has anyone even received their "free" xmas card?

    • I didnt use the Christmas one, but have ordered a few of the other free ones. All except one arrived, contacted them about the one that didnt and they gave me another promo code to use. The one that didnt arrive ended up arriving a day later

    • Just pick either one, it's just asking so it knows which local deals to display, the Cardly app is Aus wide but app is only designed for deals in Melb/Syd.

    Creating a new login won't work too as it doesn't allow the same phone number to be used twice.

  • Was in the process of ordering my card and got to the final stage where they will send you a verification to your email to confirm that they will send it to the address. Didn't get an email :( Tried to refresh but the promo code had expired. Anyone have similar problem?

  • Cheers, downloaded app just now and it was very easy to redeem, surprised there's any left. I got a code instantly, no delays with verification etc as some people seems to have above.

    I assume there's no rush now to actually claim it (as it sounds like I can't do it over mobile), so I'll just get that sorted over weekend instead.

  • Just noticed that the Liven Android app has been updated to fix the crashing bug that some were getting when trying to redeem (it also mentions upgrading to premium), so update the app and try again if you had an issue.

    Just got this email from them:

    Hi there,

    If your order has been released you will receive an order confirmation.

    If not, you will need to try again until our support staff see that the names and dates of the birthday reminders are valid. This may take some time as MANY people have entered fake information and clearly didn't value the Cardly experience. Our offer was not meant to be abused in this way… We are trying to help people connect and provide a service so that people can stay connected in a meaningful way with friends and family.

      Generate some evidence - ie. phone contact which shows person + birthday, facebook screenshot etc

        P.S. Ensure you include their mothers maiden names and the first school they attended.

    • This is strange. I ordered the card and on the last page cardly is asking me to enter five friends birthday. But the weird thing is it has already pre-generated 5 of my friends name and their birthdays. and the birthdays are all accurate. I can not figure out from where cardly has found the information of my friends birthday. This is scary and annoying. Looking at the pre-generated names it seems like it somehow captured the information from my google contact list.

  • FYI received mine in the mail today. Chucked it at my missus when I got home thinking it was spam (and not expecting it would arrive so soon). She opened it and didn't realise what it was at first, then asked me:
    1) Did I write all those things? (Answer was no, but I read all the pre made ones and chose the best ones!).
    2) Did I draw all those doodles? (Answer was no, but I chose the ones that suit us).
    3) Did I get it with a coupon or for free? (Answer was yes).

    She wasn't that impressed. :/

      Try these…

      1) Yes I did it took a long time. I know my hand writing isn't great so I used the PC instead.
      2) I tried my best, I know it might not turned out that great. But I did try. Hope you like them.
      3) I bought it when it was a special deal (no hint of being free ok). Because you are special. Special deal for Special missus, get it?

  • This is very disappointing. I ordered on 7th Feb, still no card for valentines. Tmr is the last day. I will never use them again if they don't deliver tmr

  • Same here. Never received the card. Complained to Cardly who gave me some bulldust
    about not responding to emails that I never received in the first place. Will never use or recommend them due to lack of reliability.
