  • Probably better price elsewhere than PC Byte eBay.
But I am looking for 64gb one, any deals on 64gb?

    • +2

      $29 before 20% @FutuOnline $23.20

Check the link in the list and choose whichever brand or seller you want to go with.

Edit: forget the $29 as it is the 48mb/s. Sorry my bad. Just look into the listing posted in this comment.

      • Are these fast enough for GoPro Hero 4?

        • Yes.

        • @eug:

          Thanks

        • @TightAssDrake:

          Fast enough for 1080p recording.

        • @PW:

I will be recording a lot of time lapse.

        • @PW: And 4K too.

        • @eug:

When would i need to use SanDisk Extreme' or Extreme Pro then?

        • @TightAssDrake: You'll need the faster cards if you record high-bitrate video. The GoPro maxes out at 60Mbps. Only high-end cameras like e.g. the Sony A6300 or Panasonic GH4 can use high bitrates (100-200Mbps) that will require a high-speed sd card.

Resolution and bitrate are independent of each other. 4K recording does not require a fast U3 card - it all depends on the bitrate. The Panasonic GH4 can record 1080p video at a much higher bitrate than a GoPro does at 4K.

When it comes to photos, a high-speed card will only help when you take lots of burst shots. Once your camera's buffer is full, how quickly it writes the buffer to the memory card depends on how fast the card is. It's usually only a problem if you shoot in RAW.

        • And 4K too.

No. It lags on my 4K camcorder.

          You need this or above.

        • +1

          @PW:

No. It lags on my 4K camcorder.

Camcorder? We were talking about GoPros.
What bitrate does your camcorder use?

I record 4K video on my GoPro every day onto my cheap SanDisk card. My GoPro is used as a bike 'dashcam'.

  • is this the cheapest for 128gb? looking for normal one for phone storage

  • Have you guys had luck with their delivery times I had to cancel 2 orders because of slow delivery of over a week after estimated times and I only live 20 minutes from them

    • I had previously ordered sd card from pcbytes and ty turn up on time. Should normally get within in a week.

      • Thanks mate i must of just been unlucky twice.
But looking at their feedback on eBay no wonder I had problems

        • Oh the feedbacks. I must have been the lucky ones then.

  • i need a microsd that isnt sandisk and needs to be MLC for my dash cam

  • For pure storage (maybe loading offline music + photos) this is great. For things that required write speed (FHD videos + high res photo burst) this card appear to be a no go. Write speed is reduced on this for the increased storage.

    • For things that required write speed (FHD videos + high res photo burst) this card appear to be a no go.

It'll work perfectly fine for FHD video with normal bitrates, which is usually around 30Mbps.

Burst photos will work fine as it'll be written to your camera's buffer first. A faster card will allow the buffer to be flushed more quickly, so it really depends on how many sets of burst shots you take in a row. If you shoot JPEG it won't take that long to empty.

  • Will this be ok for adoptable storage use in a tablet?
    Is 80MB/s quick enough?

    • yes

      • Thanks.

      • Just keep in mind that it's 80MB/s read. Write speed is much lower. For the best performance with adoptable storage, I would use a high-speed U3 card.

        • Fair point. Any you could recommend (on sale)?
I don't play action games on a pad, just need something that won't give me errors.

  • Sandisk Ultra or Samsung Evo+ for laptop extra storage?
