Thanks OP. I bought one and it works. Even though the discs that was included in the package is only 4 disc but it works.
I think it is the same as Kogan pasta maker and Ronco look similar too. Kogan Manual is here

        • @azm: glad you were able to get one. Does look like the Kogan too.

I had one, and bin it. Do not waste ur money.

    • y?

  • Meh - so simple and cheap to buy your own from the supermarket/grocery store. Why anyone would need this is beyond me. These days you can buy wholemeal, gluten free, egg etc depending on preference/dietary requirements.

Conversely, if you need a cool looking dust gatherer, go ahead.

Seriously though, I could see people buying these and placing on their benches when selling their homes.

    • You can make your own coloured noodles by substituting the water for different juices (a means parents use to get kids to eat their fruits and veges, makes noodle eating fun). But better and cheaper to make by hand unless you don't want to tire your hands and forearms.

      • huh ???

Juice? I think you mean beer.

      • I make fresh pasta at home and I never use water. Just flour and egg.

      fresh pasta tastes better
It involves more work, but some enjoy making food from scratch

Packaged pasta costs several times more - gram for gram - than the one you make yourself. It's heaps more expensive.

Not only that, cooking fresh pasta is several minutes faster than packaged 'dry' pasta (less gas/electric costs). And less packaging waste if you're buying flour in bulk (and less plastic in the environenment if you buy your flour in paper bags). Now if you want to compare it like-for-like (ie. to fresh pasta at the supermarket) - it's hugely, hugely, cheaper. To say nothing of taste. If you eat a fair bit of pasta, that really adds up.

So not only is several times cheaper and less wasteful, you can use the exact ingredients you want.

That said, I don't know what this machine is like, or whether it will be landfill in a year.

    $25 @Kmart on 29/12 for the pasta discussion😯

  • $359 for the Philips 4 disc pasta maker… their recipe book:

    • Or 24 of these cheapies for same price😯

Correct! Bought the $25 one a few days ago… and it seems to work great as it was yummo. Had the pasta pumped out before the water boiled.

So you're recommending their FREE recipe book, rather than the expensive machine - smart ;-)

Could buy another Kmart one @$15 & return with $25 receipt😯

Now I'm hungry for some pasta🍝

        • @Infidel:

The Philips recipe book is more comprehensive…

          :)

        • @competitions:
          I'm not surprised😯
Off to cook some store bought pasta🍝 & hope these are $15 at local Kmart.

  • I bought the Philips Pasta Maker and LOVE it. I paid $240 but money well spent. I can't eat dry now or order a pasta meal out because I can tell it's the packet stuff. I've turned into a pasta snob. I'm glad I bought the Philips. I am on a Facebook pasta making page and people who have owned these have gone out and bought the Philips. There is a reason they are $15. If you seriously want to make your own pasta, buy well or don't buy at all. This will be a waste of $15.

  • $15 too at Kmart Sunnybank Hills in Brisbane.
