  • This stuff is awesome. Gives real good knot strength and good abrasion resistance, yet is still nice and supple. Makes the Berkley flourocarbon look like absolute junk.

    Japanese line is friggin awesome

Imagine treating another animal, like a rodent or feline or canine or any other animal, the way people celebrate torturing fish. For lack of vocal chords and flailing limbs people are stupid enough to become masters of sadism and discuss their instruments of misery.

      • Imagine treating another living organism, like e. coli or staph. aureus or any other organism, the way people celebrate killing salmonella. For lack of vocal chords and visible flailing limbs people are stupid enough to become masters of sadism and discuss their instruments of misery.

Ban pine o clean. Ban white king. Ban domestos.

Life is life. Bacteria are living beings too, just because we can't see them it doesn't mean we should ignore them.

        • -2

Yes, talk about life and ignore not only the scientific consensus but the most primal human understanding that sentience is a quality that only animals possess.

Tip: remove your family from the lawn before you mow it. You may not know the difference but they certainly will.

        • @thevofa:

          Nice. Calling my family bacteria.

I like how you don't differentiate pain with a stress reaction, because there is limited evidence that fish experience pain due to their brain structure. Flailing limbs do not indicate pain. A reaction to an stress is exhibited by most living things from plants to most bacteria. But you would know that if you actually knew about science.

Besides, where will you draw the line? What do you define as an animal, let alone an animal that experiences pain? Because there are many "animals" who do not have an advanced enough brain to experience pain and the difference between them and a multicellular organism that has only a rudimentary nervous system is minimal (and Google would define this as an animal too btw). Then the difference between this and a eukaryote with no nervous system at all is minimal. Then the difference between this and a prokaryote is minimal. All react to stress, but who exhibits pain?

        • @FiftyCal: Of course you can follow your own musings in the defense of your behaviour or you could appeal to the consensus of modern science. For a brief treatment perhaps google the "Cambridge Declaration on Consciousness."

It's so interesting how some people become extremely concerned for the feelings of bacteria and plants when someone points out their blatant callousness for those that are clearly perceptually aware. Google "tu quoque" for that one.

        • @thevofa:

Consciousness does not equal the ability to feel pain.

I like how you tout science but do not understand the difference between a stress response and pain.

  • Good deal, The RRP printed on the 6lb spool is JPY1400 which comes to around AUD16.50 today. Dinga's $13.56 with free shipping is a good deal. Gonna wait till nearer christmas time for better bargains though lol..

    • I would actually see what prices you can source locally and to your point, what you can source from Japan inclusive of shipping. The gap would obviously be bigger.

      • everyone else on ebay seems to be doing over AUD$20 for this. do you have any sources for buying from Japan? appreciate if you could let me know via PM, can't seem to PM you.

        • No i dont haha, my point was comparing on the yen rrp alone isnt accurate as you need to factor in shipping (which dinga do not charge for). The only source from importing from japan im aware of is rakuten.

        • @anthman: went to have a look at amazon jp. 20lb costs ¥ 1,556 and ¥ 973shipping. all up AUD~29.75

          https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B00NM16XF0/ref=ox_sc_act…

this Dinga special looks like a VERY GOOD deal now. lol..

        • @RedKelah: Mate this is as cheap as you'll find this line. The regular price for this was already well priced, actually cheaper then many local tackle stores I've seen. Acouple times I've ordered just a single spool of this to replace my current line which was getting low. And with free postage included they really wouldn't have been making much profit off that purchase. Kinda felt like I was cheating them abit lol.

As for sourcing gear from Japan. I'll send you a PM of the stores I regularly use.

  • Thanks for this. Great stuff, use it all the time. Just stocked up.

  • I use this stuff from 4lb all the way up to 40lb. Easily the best value fluoro leader you can buy.

Dinga's service is always outstanding as well. Orders rarely ever take longer then 3 days to arrive from my experience.

  • Japanese fluro > any other fluro
Berkeley vanish is literally vanishing fluro Carbon .. Most rubbish one ever tried….

  • Edit: never mind, I just need to register an account first.

$10 delivery? I cannot select free delivery.

  • oh man, most items out of stock now…
I was after and 8lb and 20lb fluorocarbon leader.
Will have to wait around for the next bargain.

    • They have restocked!
