Was $189USD not low enough? How about $169?

Powerful 5" device running the Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4 gigs of RAM. Only downside — it comes with a tampered english ROM so you might want to flash a new ROM yourself, either a custom one or the official Indian locale ROM.

There are actually a few ways to achieve back/recent buttons, on-screen navigation is one of them. Alternatively, Zuk Z2 has this feature called U-touch

On the bottom, we have just one physical home button but it has tons of features. First of all, you can physically press it and it takes you home. Also, you can tap it and it acts as a back button or swipe it from left to right if you e.g. want to access your recent apps. Also, the button is highly customizable and you can assign different tasks. I have to say that this is one of the best home button implementations I’ve ever seen.

        • @CodeXD: I watched a YouTube video on Z2 Pro's Utouch, sounds really cool. Didn't know the standard Z2 has it too.

-From that link I found the Z2 doesn't have an app tray. Do you think a custom ROM would fix that?
-I heard custom ROMs aren't compatible with Utouch?

          @Fobsessive:
I've ordered the phone and still waiting for it to come, but I'm pretty sure ZUK Z2 also has U-touch.

          1. You can use a custom launcher to get the app tray back, something like Nova Launcher is my top preference
          2. Here's a comparison of custom roms and what they support (that forum is specific for ZUK Z2 (called zuk z2 in India) and they mention that all stock Roms have the U-touch)
        • @CodeXD: CM13 (unofficial) looks promising. I suppose it is asking too much to be able to remove the on-screen buttons in CM13?
Which ROM are you planning to try first?

        • @Fobsessive: planning to flash to the Indian stock first to get the full zukfans.eu experience

  • Meh, come back when you have the Z2 Pro for under $300 AUD

  • Thanks, Just bought one for Dad, no black one though.

What does the tampered english rom do to the phone?

    • +1

Gets your data to Chinese Govt at the same time the Americans get it. Balances out in the end.

    • Feels the same as other chinaphones to me (owned 5). Some chinese characters & apps show up, but everything in english.

I hope the 64gb is not a ROM I do hope you meant RAW
    ROM = Read only memory
    RAW = Read and write

    • We all know what he means by ROM, phone sellers frequently use this term to describe the internal storage nowadays.

    • Shouldn't it be RAWM?

    • +2

changed to EMMC to appease the all the engineers on the thread.

    recently I bought one,
when they were selling it for A$259
Will reduce the price for that

  • Mine was delivered in 4 weeks but I am disappointed that TeamViewer QuickSupport appears to be view only despite Lenovo being listed as a supported brand. Does anyone know whether/how to get full remote control of the phone? I am hesitant/inexperience to try different ROMs to address this big shortcoming for me. My old Samsung Galaxy S5 allows it.

  • Merry zzukxmas!

  • anyone knows when the coupon expires?

  • +2

Don't really need another phone but what the hell.. ordered!!

    • Login to checked my order because the address was wrong. The status has changed to back order now. :(. Hope they will correct my address and send it soon. Don't want to wait a month for it.

Had a shipping issue last time. Not buying again from banggood.

  • Has anyone had theirs shipped out as yet? Mine says on backorder now, which is a little disappointing.

    • Mine's showing the same. I'm thinking I won't bother with banggood again - and here I was thinking dealextreme was slow

    • I've been talking to Banggood customer service and the girl said it will be dispatch on the 16th this month.

      • Hopefully it ships sooner rather than later. I had the mi5s pre-order from banggood and that was delayed from nov-20 to dec-20.. I cancelled that order and I've cancelled this zuk z2 order.

On another note I ordered the zuk z2 again but this time from ebay (order dec-13) and it has been marked as posted today (dec-14). Ironically it's at the same price +5$ since I'd picked the faster shipping with bangggood

        • Got a link for the eBay one?

        • @HandsomeMonkey:
Express shipping with banggood was 250aud, so I was a little optimistic. From fleabay shipped is 275aud
          http://www.ebay.com/itm/282275460495

          But at least it's shipped…

        • @sriver:

OK.. I didn't pay for express shipping so it was only 227$ for me. This one is $50 more. I think I'll just wait for them to post it. Bought it as a spare.

        • @HandsomeMonkey:
Update 30/12/2016 phone arrived, a little late for Xmas present but not so late it got silly haha. The giftee seems pleased with the phone and it feels fairly rapid (Snapdragon 820 after all). I've ordered the ZTE axon 7 for myself but not sure if I'll have buyers remorse when it arrives and I compare it to the Zuk z2.

        • @sriver:

Well you paid $50 more than me so I guess you'll get yours first for sure. Hopefully I'll get mine next week. What's the software like? Is it English/International or Chinese?

        • @HandsomeMonkey:
I think it's more of a bang good thing. People still seem to be waiting for the Mi5s preorder that started way back in November.

The phone needed to be flashed. Google zuk fans for a guide. Usually I'd go to xda forums but they've only got the zuk z2 pro covered

  • Just spoke to Banggood live chat. They said it would be in stock around 20/12/16. With Christmas so close, we'll probably get the phone early Feb I'm guessing.

    • Aww damn, longer waiting time..

  • I just received confirmation that it had been shipped today (19/12/2016) after ordering on 10/12/2016 if anyone is looking for updates with delivery. The tracking information isn't yet active though.

  • so who else sells it cheap ? and whats the most recent version of android that can be flashed to this - custom ?

  • Is anyone else's order going through Swiss Post? Hoping it doesn't tour across Europe before making way back to Australia…

    • Yikes. Swiss Post takes ages. You might get lucky and it might not end up going anywhere near Europe, most likely from ShenZhen to Hong Kong or singapore and then Australia.

    • Mine is in Switzerland now..

      2016-12-29 06:44:00
      Location:Genève 2 Letter Transit
      Status:Departed transit country.

They should have sent it with China post. I get it faster than this Swiss post. It's been more than 20 days since I put an order in. I doubt we'll get it next week. Maybe another two weeks.

      • Same with mine, went through Swiss post and has exact same departure time/date as yours.

Pretty interesting that they send it from HK to Switzerland, and then back to Australia. Very indirect, but must some how work out cheaper for them!

FYI I ordered mine on 8th of December.

        • Same,

I think it's already somewhere in Australia since the tracking hasn't been updated since the 29th December. It takes about two weeks for Aust post to send parcel from one state to another. I reckoned we'll get it sometime next week.

        • @HandsomeMonkey:

Mine arrived today (I'm in regional QLD). Ordered 9/12/2016 so took just over a month

        • @normanwall:

          Thanks for the notice.

Hopefully I'll get mine tomorrow. I'm in Darwin so it's probably takes longer to get from Sydney to Darwin with Aust Post.

        • Mate,

          Have you received yours yet?

      • I'm in Melbourne and mine hasn't arrived yet. Hopefully Monday. How about yours?

        • +1

          Not yet,

I rang up Aust Post and they said they haven't received it yet.

Received the phone yesterday and it came with Reseller's ROm which can't be updated so I flashed the Indian ROM straight away. Make sure you flash OTA enable ROM first before you flash the Indian ROM.
