  • Does anyone know what credit cards give you a free extended warranty? Thanks

    • Anything gold or platinum does the job. 1 and 2 years respectively.

Credit card only covers Australian warranty.
with this grey import, they will provide Kogan/Dicksmith warranty - which can not be extended by credit card company.

I got apple warranty in 1st year with my Kogan sold phone. You don't get the second year with apple since you did not buy it in Australia. I have NOT seen a "bought xxx excluded" in my credit card warranty

  • Wish there were iPhone 6S Plus 64/128GB deals about.. :(

    • 64GB $925 128GB $979 may be a good deal.

      • Thanks, too bad its refurbished

What dingdong3000 meant Sage was thank you

        • What dingdong should say is

no thank you I don't want to buy from that doggy mob Becextech. Just Google their reputation.

  • I'm after a plus for bigger screen happy with less mem

    • iPad version 1 ?

I have a feeling these won't get delivered before Christmas, hence the cheaper listing prices. Might be selling stock they don't yet have? I wouldn't mind purchasing one but am worried about postage times.

  • Actually these her import models use Qualcomm network chip instead of Intel's which is used in Au model

    • what?!? Surely not?

      • +1

yes, and Intel chip somehow weaker than Qualcomm's in rural/weak reception areas, you can google about it. also, Apple limited Qualcomm's chip's max LTE speeds to make it on par with Intel's, whether it is software or physical intervention, Apple always plays this 'multi-' safe card for themselves for supplies and stability but 2017 on they must change or people will change to other brands

Interesting, i had no idea, i always assumed they were the same globally. Guess it makes the gray imports even more appealing in both price and specs now

@Chickenleg: except warranty for second year, if you change phone every few months or up to a year, go with grey import. if you want tax return with travelling + second year + local warranty etc then go with local stock :)

        • @Chickenleg:

And because of Qualcomm's modems have better connectivity they lead to way better battery life as well (weak cellular connection takes a huge hit on battery).

What iPhone uses 2 different chips ……????

    • They use two different modems, Qualcomm one and Intel one. Depending on the region, you get different modem.

    • yes, I sold my au stock Jet Black 7 Plus which I got when launched due to the weak reception while travelling to rural areas, now settled with a HK model which shows obvious improvement with weak signal areas, not impact the urban areas though.

Is there GST on the price? Travelling overseas in a few weeks and would be great to get a TRS refund also..

  • "AU/NZ Compliant Generic Charger" Is this like the compliant ones off ebay?
