20% off iTunes Gift Cards at BP

80

Hi all,

I just went to the servo to get a $50 itunes card and found them all to be 20% off. I asked the guy when it expires and he said not sure maybe 1st July.

Ended up getting 3 :)

Unsure if this is a duplicate - did a quick search and couldn't see anything. Also couldn't find any links or media to this. You'll just have to trust me.

You shouldn't spend money on BP.

    • …true!

    • If everyone boycotts BP, they wont have profits, and won't be able to pay for the cleanup.

      • … and you think those profits would go towards the cleanup? lol

      • I am trying to understand your logic behind that comment but I doubt it has any. You do realise that if they cannot fix it that the flow on effect will affect everyone including us here in AU.

but theyre franchisees, average mum and dads
BP Corp will pay, thats for sure

    • BP stores have little to do with BP itself. BP petrol stations don't even necessarily sell oil refined by BP.

You'll find it very hard to drive a car and accurately avoid sending money to BP. So unless you drive a tesla, STFU.

      • maybe but most of their profit comes from selling stuff in their stores.

    • Boycotting BP service stations just hurts the small business owner, not the overall company. If BP Australia can't sell its fuel to one station they'll just sell it to another, because overall demand for fuel will not decrease. Boycotts are worthless.

      • some BP stations are BP corp owned and some are franchises, franchises have to pay a certain amount of profit earned

  • I really dont think you need to boycott BP. They are in enough trouble already. Maybe wait to see how they fix the crisis in the US first. A boycott maybe premature. AND as they are one of the few alternatives to Shell/Caltex Woolies/Coles who now dominate our local market, will this help us?

And isnt this more of a US fight - what can the locals at BP do? (No I am not anti Yank)

And as some here point out, BP will just sell to other stations, many being unbranded independents. So its not all that easy to do. And will this fix the issue? Teaching them a lesson maybe but as I said I think they understand that big $$ time already. Boy I'd hate to be the BP financial controller.

This was posted before but "expired" - guess its been extended http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/26292

  • Coles and woolies
with there 4 cents off really dominate the market
    BP is screwed already
with the drop in share price
and also the billions of dollas they have to spend on the clean up
and the compensation they'll have to pay soon
insurance companies will also suffer (they prolly go cata cover) but hopefully to a limit

dont need to boycot i reckon, go grab some cheap feul when they wanna get cash and have fire sales!

You CAN boycott BP…..by walking or riding a bike.

    • Or public transport

      • Other than a bus…

  • Wow, looks like discounts on itunes card is spilling over onto BP ;)

  • I went to a BP today in Sydney and the attendant said the discount finished a week ago…
