I lament that their cheapest plan is $30 a month.

I was going to switch to them when they had a $20 plan just because it's cheap access to the Telstra network, then they hiked it to $25, and then removed that plan also, so the entry plan is $30 which is more than I want to pay for the amount I use.

Telstra prepaid used to be a better option for $30 since you can use that credit towards Google play. But they removed that feature for all plans that are worth using, so they suck too now.

Still looking for a good sub-$20 plan on Telstra network.

I've been happy with Aldi mobile $20 plan. Depends if it's enough for you.

Aldi doesn't use the full Telstra network

Hear this claim quite often. Been no different at all from Boost in my experience.

        • I have the impression (from what I have read) that Boost is NOT full Testra either, but "fuller" than Aldi. I have never managed to get a definite answer to this as most of the articles I've read give conflicting answers!!!

Changing from Telstra contract to Boost pre paid saw no difference to me either.

          @TheMatrix:

Well Boost gets access to Telstra 4G LTE. You make what you think of that.

        • @hollykryten:
The Only difference is Boost does not get 4GX….yes 4G just not 4GX thingy otherwise full network.

          @PLANT:
Just to clarify… Boost has exactly the same coverage as the full Telstra network. However, top data speeds on 4g are capped at a limit.

          From the Whirlpool wiki:
Boost Mobile have full, unrestricted access to the Telstra network in terms of coverage. Boost customers however do not have access to Telstra's full 4GX data speeds.

Sucks that their billing period is 28 days instead of 30.

Use auto recharge and it will be 30 days…

        • will auto recharge work to make 30 day for already existing boost customers on the 28 day cycle ?

  • sounds like a pretty decent deal. no 4GX full speeds kills it for me ,thus why i stay on Vaya for their 4G Plus usage.

  • Mod\Op put until 4th Dec in comments

I'm looking at moving family and missed the $10 voucher posted.
This will work as contract expires in Nov from Telechoice and they want the Full Telstra network to get calls!

    • I put under expiry field: 4th Dec, but will put in description too to make it clearer. thanks

      • :)

    • Can anyone comment…..They have Nexus 4…3G phone on telechoice
Other family member has oneplus one Boost
Map shows 3G\4G 700mhz an 1800 coverage for area yet only until recently the Nexus always dropped out.

If the Nexus 4 goes to Boost will it get better coverage?

      http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=6327&idPhone3=…

      • If the Nexus 4 goes to Boost will it get better coverage? —- possibly. test with a $2 telstra sim card and see if nexus drops out of signal.

  • the only thing it is missing is unlimited calls to 10 countries.. I am with amaysim atm only because of this extra feature for the same amount of money per billing cycle…
If Boost also start offering this for the same price then Boost mobile will be the best among all other out there

  • Please remove the "month" terminology. 28 days is not a month. It actually means there are 13 instead of 12 billing periods in a year Their website says 28 days, nothing about a month.

    • It is in February.

Month is just a simpler word than "per 28 days".

      • Set it to auto recharge, will give you 12 billing cycle per year.

    • If you read their FAQ on their web site, set the plan to auto recharge will give you 12 billing cycles per year. See my comment below.

    From Boost web site:

"Set it. Forget it. With auto recharge your phone will automatically recharge each month so you can get on with the more exciting stuff.

Your recharge will be set to the same date each month. So if it is a 31 day month your recharge will last for 31 days!

Here’s how to set it up:

Recharge using your credit card on the app, care.boost.com.au or #111#
Save the details and select “auto recharge”
Set your start date… and never think about recharging again"

  • Thanks for that, but does it charge the 28 day rate for every month or does it add a pro-rata amount for any days over the 28?

    • 28 days rate I believed.
