  • Can you stack with other discount promos?

    • +2

      no

      • Not to be used in conjunction with any other eBay or PayPal coupon/voucher

      • Yes, but can it be used with a promo code like CHEER20? AFter all, this is just a method of payment, not a discount card, right?

        • +6

No, it takes the form of a voucher code that you apply at checkout, before the payment phase. Same box as where you put in CHEER20.

        • +1

          @SoresuMakashi:
Ah I understand now. Thanks for clarifying.

        • +3

@SoresuMakashi: This kills it for me

        • The CHEER20 code is already a good enough deal on certain items, some stuff is way cheaper after that code than anything offered on static ice. An extra %15 off would be ridiculous.

        • +7

          @AustriaBargain:

An extra %15 off would be ridiculous.

          Ridiculous but not undesirable.

        • @schwinn:

Yeah, I was actually a few dollars short of buying the RT-3200 with CHEER20, an extra %15 off $100 of it would have made it just affordable enough, ha

    • • Not to be used in conjunction with any other eBay or PayPal coupon/voucher

    • No, it cannot

  • +2

you probably wont get the voucher

    • Any reason why not? Wish I needed something over $100

      • I believe he is referencing the recent eBay Click and Collect deal, where customers were supposed to receive a $100 voucher on the 1st of November, and many are still waiting on this to be delivered… Myself included

Lost a lot of trust in eBay as each customer service rep tells you something different when you make contact

        • But this voucher is provided by Groupon, not eBay. You have no dealings with eBay until it comes time to use the voucher.

        • +1

have you looked on the bottom of your 'my ebay' tab? I thought i hadn't got it but saw it was there at the bottom of it.

        • I have received mine.

        • @Jules_d1: Indeed i have, I have also spoken with eBay reps everyday, and tried the code multiple times. Their response is not that they will be crediting customers paypal accounts over the next 10 days.

        • Have you checked your ebay account? They basically don't notify you at all that its there.

You need to login to your ebay and scroll right down to the bottom of the page to find the voucher code.

Or, did you check that ALL of your transactions were Click n Collect?

        • @Telios: As explained above, i have scrolled to the bottom. Nothing there. I have spoken to eBay reps multiple times, who have also explained that it's not there…

I am pleased that many people have their vouchers listed on the bottom of their My eBay pages… But as eBay have explained, they have a problem and many people are without vouchers and will be credited the funds back to their Paypal accounts…

<written with gritted teeth font, as the next person who tells me to check them bottom of the "My eBay Summary page" may push me over the edge>

        • I received and spent the voucher, right on 1 nov.

I contacted them about a pass similar offer via online chat. They told me to be patient as they have a lot of accounts to process. So i waited and eventually got the voucher.

    • +1

What are you basing that comment on? I've bought this same voucher from Groupon with no issues.

  • +7

Isnt this one the same as last time.

    ie. It never ended…

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/266138

    • Hm yea i guess so. there was also one in May https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/248701
looks like Groupon do the same deal every few months. Different expiry dates..

    • yes, destination URL is same as deal 266138

but previous destination URLs have been different:
      https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/ebay-3
      https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/ebay-2
      https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/ebay-au

      • +4

Thus a dupe, because I bought it last time and now it says
"There was a problem submitting your order. You have exceeded the purchase limit for this deal."

        • reply i received from mods is this deal isn't a dupe as other deal is >1 mth and was marked as expired.

        • @battler: The question is why did you take it to the mods ?.

        • +3

i asked the mods if deal 266138 should be reactivated as the target URL was the same and the offering was the same as previously posted deal.

        • +1

@battler: Why do you care though and what difference would it make ?

  • +25

    Things to note

    • This is a voucher (not actual money) which means if you dispute the transaction with the seller, you loose the $85
    • If you buy something and it send up being out of stock, you loose the voucher value
    • This is non refundable. You have problems with your transaction, you loose your money
    • thanks

      • +5

Also, its been reported that they are issuing the vouchers in sequence numbers which means its easy to guess them. Don't be surprised if someone ends up using your voucher

        • No wonder they reissued me two new ones!!

        • @Turd:

          ebay or groupon

        • +2

          @easternculture: Groupon

Looking at the codes I have it is true that old ones look sequential. damm coulda made 1+1+2!!

          They said……….

Thank you for purchasing a Groupon for the eBay deal. Unfortunately, we’ve identified a technical issue with some of the eBay voucher codes originally generated for this deal.

As you’re yet to use your eBay Voucher Code, we’re providing you with a new one:

Any code you received previously is no longer valid and should be ignored.

Remember, your eBay Voucher Code is subject to the following terms: http://pages2.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/cgroupon

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. You now have until 15 December 2016 to redeem your voucher. Happy shopping!

        • +2

lol @ they are issuing the vouchers in sequence numbers

        • @jimbler:

Just got hOme from a 20 hr shift so excuse my grammar lol. Haven't slept for ~ 30 hrs

        • +3

          @easternculture:

Didn't even notice that. Was laughing at them for issuing them in sequential order. :-)

    • Hence don't bother not worth your effort

  • this deal is not new (has been advertised in groupon since early this year).

    Also,

You need to take note that in the event you need to claim a refund from paypal, you will not be able to claim the money back since the refund will be returned to ebay It is a hassle to claim the refund (as I need to call the customer rept, the refund takes 20 business days to process etc..)

  • Bought one of these 2 days ago yet to recieve code. Be aware it says it can take 2-4 business days to come through.

    • Have you gotten it yet?

      • Got it around midday today

        • +1

Yeah got mine 4:30pm today, ordered on Friday.

  • +1

Got excited for no reason, already bought… and used :)

  • eBay only accept 1 coupon/voucher code, so it is very very difficult to use this when we have ebay 20% off code sale all the time. Lots of people still haven't found a way to use the $100 voucher from click and collect, as the 20% thing is still going at the moment.

    • so this voucher cannot use with 20% discount code?

    • According to T&C cannot stack eBay vouchers/coupons

    • 20% off is better but currently limited sellers and expires in 3 days. This one valid to end of month, will be useful (at least until another 20% off ebay deal)

  • +6

I bought this coupon about a month ago. Was going to buy a set of dog clippers for $200, but ended up using the Click and Collect promo to claim the $50 voucher. Then bought stuff from The Good Guys at the 20% off sale… but couldn't stack the codes. Now I'm struggling to think of what to use it for and will prob buy something I don't really need yet. Moral of the story: just wait for the regular eBay sales unless you really want to buy something soon (voucher takes 3-4 working days to arrive btw).

    • same here

  • +1

So effectively, this is a discount of $30 for purchases of $200 and above.

    Edit:
Discount of $15 for purchases of $100 and above, since only one voucher can be used at a time.

  • It took me 3 days to get the voucher and another 3 days to use it because some problems with the code ( getting replaced one because the one I bought did not work)

  • -6

You cannot stack this with 20% sales, and you cannot recover the value if there is a refund or problem with the item.

    • +1

You can recover the voucher as mentioned in comments above but yes its a lot more hassle. Need to contact ebay, took 20 business days
Yes cannot stack with 20% deal (which I redeemed myself yesterday), expires in few days

    • +2

That doesn't make a bad deal, just not as good a deal as if those things were true. If you want to buy something worth around $100 from any of the thousands of sellers not included in the eBay 20% sales, this is a good deal assuming you take into account the small risk of a problem with the item.

    • +4

I hardly think it is worth a neg.
      horses for courses.
this voucher is great for buying certain items from Dan Murphys click and collect (as an example)

    • +1

They will.. took me more than a month for 10$ refund when product was not in stock.. but they paid the entire $100 as paypal credit instead, for the inconvenience due to delay..

      • That was lucky!

  • -3

    so not worth buying..Thanks!

  • +7

The voucher I bought last time does NOT work! It says "Looks like this code isn't ready yet. Please try again later." I'm still trying to solve this issue with Groupon, ebay and Paypal and it's FRUSTRATING!!!!

    • You should have gotten a email about the security update and they will give you a new code?

Have you contacted groupon? Usually they are good and can refund you

    • +1

I have the same issue. Still dealing this with groupon.. waited for 10 days . Still no reply

    • I wish I would of read this. Now I have a voucher that says the same thing. I spoke to ebay and they said this "I request you to purchase the item number and make the full payment. After the payment is done, please share the item number so that we can submit the manual voucher credit request to our Marketing & Promotion team. Once, they approve the request then amount will be refunded back in your PayPal account within 10-15 business days."

I will probably to that if groupon keep piss farting around.

  • +2

    In case anyone is wondering:

Gift cards/certificates/vouchers are excluded from the use of the voucher.

    • +1

As long as the item listed on ebay, you can use the voucher to buy it from ebay. I did it to get rid of the voucher as the voucher arrived late to buy something I wanted

      • That's interesting, I'm just quoting from the terms and conditions of the voucher here but if anyone is game to try it…

  • +3

pls be aware with this. received my coupon, not working. it was 4 weeks ago, and still dispute with stupid investigation. sometimes $15 doesnt even worthed compare to the time to speak with rep and sort things out

  • +4

Last time I did this deal Groupon never provided the voucher and by the time they responded "sorry vouxher expired now no refunds". Currently in a credit card dispute to get the money back.

  • The terms amount to denial of a refund. Is this a breach of the Australian Consumer Law?

    • No if they clearly state it in the terms. That means you fully understand the risk before going into transaction. If you are not happy, they expect you not to buy.

  • Does CashRewards work with this purchase from Groupon?

    • Cashrewards Groupon doesn't work with vouchers, gift cards etc., so no, it won't work.
From their website: Cashback is NOT payable on ANY Gift Cards, eGift Cards or Value Vouchers purchased through Groupon.

  • +3

Not going to downvote this but I've had recent bad experiences on this too.

I loaded my cart with 10 items (~$120) and tried to process all in 1 go.
    4 items didn't process.
The 6 that did only amounted to ~$80 but my whole "$100 voucher" was used.

I called through to eBay's callcenter and the cust service rep has no idea how to fix it. Said they'd call me back. I'm waiting on the call back now.

And my credit card was charged a bunch of small (deposit?) 'pending' amounts obviously related to this, but the eBay CSR told me "contact paypal about that, we can't help you with that." That's an extra $18 that went on my credit card outside of the voucher amount!

So this wasn't worth the trouble in my case (… in fact I might have seriously lost out on this).

If anyone is purchasing, I would suggest try to use the whole voucher in one >$100 transaction to avoid my same problem coming up.

    • I just got a callback on this. The same CSR told me to repurchase the 4 unprocessed items out of pocket, and eBay would credit my paypal account the difference. Within 14-21 days.

So I'm out of pocket another ~$36 for a ~2/3 weeks, AND I've got to deal with the weird "pending" ~$18 charged by paypal.

Not the best solution but at least I got a solution.

      • +2

Ebay customer service is not fully trained to deal with promotions.
Even % off promotion could come unstuck unless you keep an eye on final amount charged.once the items are processed it is hard to get refunds from ebay.
Hope your refund is processed as promised.the way this deal is upvoted there could more unhappy customers

        • Yeah, I try not to give the cust service crap since I've worked in call centre CS myself, and know there is not much they're allowed to do on their end.

But for such a busy callcentre, they could give their frontline CS staff more authority and training to fix what seems to be pretty straightforward issues.

I set up a reminder on my phone to check back in 3 weeks time. By then it'll be the start of December. Hopefully if I need to call them I'll still be able to get through without long wait queues.

      • I had pretty much the same bad experience using this voucher. My cart had 10 items for $101. A couple days after using the voucher i realised one item didn't process ($35).
And I also have a heap of small pending amounts on my credit card for each item. Was told the same thing from eBay to repurchase the missing item and they will organise a credit.
Wouldn't recommend these vouchers. Definitely not for multiple item purchases.

        • Somewhat comforting (and a pain) to hear someone else has had the same experience =/.

How long have the amounts been pending on your card may I ask? Mine has been a couple of days now. With CBA mastercard gold.

I haven't done the math yet but I think the pending amounts are a proportion of the excess over $100, or something like that. If so, the eBay refund to paypal will be out of whack. Will have a closer look into it and do the math properly tonight.

        • @LymeLychee:
They have been pending for a week now. I think you are right with them being proportioned. My pending amounts only total to about 60 cents so I'm not too concerned.

    • yeah I've just got hit with this weird transaction issue on ebay too.

luckily the guy on the other end of chat was very helpful, he offered me a re-issued voucher for the amount of total unprocessed items. so I have not need to fork out dollars for repurchasing those missing items.

  • I also wouldn't bother with this voucher and wait for a sale.

I was probably one of the lucky few who managed to get back my money after I ran into issues with the infamous error code "Looks like this code isn't ready yet. Please try again later". This happened because I selected the wrong payment account on Paypal and the coupon code was apparently "used", even though I couldn't finalise my purchase.

I had to waste about two hours on web chat, but the person kept on insisting there was no such thing as a Groupon code and after I managed to convince them to check their system, that person said the voucher I had expired. In the end, I thanked that person for their help and rated the support person lowly, at least I did say he was polite.

It's actually a lot better to call up Ebay support and tell them your issue, I had to email them the voucher and the person was very helpful, fixed my issue and guide me through the cart.

bought it last time, got some baby nappy bin bags, normally $18 in store, $15 on ebay plus discount came out cheap, and din't have to go to a baby store.

Need some Finish dishwasher tablets this time. My Harvey Norman BB from a few years back is almost out. Anyone recommend who they get tablets from (on ebay)?

    • I'm keen to know about the Finish dishwasher tablets too.

    • pm me

  • Any bargains?

  • I would have to say, to save $15 you run the risk of losing potentially a lot more should your item goes missing and need to request a refund.

  • These deals often means ebay is about to do a site-wide 20% off sale. And usually in the same month.

    • This deal has been live for months now btw, perhaps during the 15% offs that happened a while back.

  • Yay… laptop battery here i come.

  • +1

A warning to everyone who want to buy this, I bought this a month ago, but still have not received coupon, dealing with Groupon, been told to wait but never come back again for more than 10 days.
A big no to Groupon, will never go Groupon again personally.

    • +2

You should neg the deal next time

  • Yep I also bought a couple of these coupons a month ago and they did not work. Groupon wouldn't refund me but made me wait a few days to get a replacement for one of the coupons. The 2nd coupon replacement I am still waiting for.

  • dohh, i hesitated and missed out.

what are the chance of groupon doing another one of these?
