how safe are these, my dentist doesn't like consumer whitening products

definitely a bad idea..
They do work, but you're putting yourself at risk of infections as the people that do it are not dental hygenists. I've heard people getting herpies (oral) from the shopping center ones. Best off with a professional dentist treatment or a take home pack. Also there is an australian company called bdazzled that have a take home kit which is cheap and is the same strength as the dentist one but you have to do the mouth guard yourself.
Looks like a good deal to me.
