Note: There are some comments that it has been cheaper however these are incorrect since they relate to the router only model (R7000) not the modem router in this deal (D7000). They look the same hence the confusion.

Great price on a high performing modem router. Retails at $400 at JB, Harvey Norman and Officeworks.

This is not the R7000 (router only) but the modem router version.

Supports ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+ and VDSL/VDSL2 (FTTN NBN). If you have FTTP NBN and looking for something like this, go for the equivalent router - Netgear R7000 or R8000.

Hope Wireless1 Updates their price on Ebay to match their online store for the Asus RT-AC88U

    • Just In case you didn't know there is a $30 cash back on RT-AC88U X'MAS CASHBACK

      • Does that apply to shops which aren't listed on the bottom of the page? e.g. Futu Online and PC Byte?

I bought this for ~$200 in a sale 6 months ago, so I think $240 is a bit steep. I'm quite happy with the router and the performance.

    • Good deal. Was it posted on OzB or just part of an eBay sale?

      • Has been down to $167 in the past year.. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/232740 so yeah $240 does seem a lot.. It's a great router though, especially once flashed with Merlin or other 3rd party firmware

That deal is for the router R7000. This deal is for Modem Router D7000.

        Yup, from wireless1

    This is the modem/router

  • it has been much cheaper before in previous deals i would wait

    • Really? Any OzB links? You're not referring to the R7000 are you?

  • Any idea how this compares to the ASUS DSL-AC68U?

Also, would you recommend buying the d7000 from futu or wireless1?

    • Purchasing from Futu or Wireless1 should be fine.

As for your first question, I don't have any experience with the Asus as I've only ever owned Netgear products, but I think either would be good. I have heard the Asus can be flashed with 3rd party firmware to open up some additional features. I currently have the Netgear R8000 and it's a good performer, with plenty of features and a decent interface. The D7000 would be similar.
