  • My mother's friend bought the CD version for her as a present. My mother came to me with her laptop because she was seeing errors. Damned thing wouldn't update it's virus defintions and apparently it's a common problem. Lots of solutions posted. None of the ones I tried worked. Apparently if you download and install the latest it fixes the problem but I haven't had the time to try that for her yet. And I thought BitDefender was bad. This was worse.

Moved to Avira free version. Hasn't given me trouble.

    • So it wasn't just me - that was the main frustration when I had Kaspersky installed across family's computers. Haven't had the same issue with ESET.

Yeah, ESET Smart Security is way better. I run it here. Infact it's only an extra $1.20 more ($11.20) elsewhere for ESET Smart Security. Although it's only for a 1PC. But i would recommend ESET just the same.

      • ESET's firewall gives much better control than Kaspersky, too.

Found kaspersky to be an A grade product. Dealt with Saveonit a few times Excellent service.

  • That's their regular price.

Can you stack multiple of this to get multiple years?

    • Yeah i don't think unactivated Kaspersky keys expire so you should be able to just activate another key when the current 12 month key expires.

But personally i think that ESET Smart Security is way better. A key for ESET is only $11.20 elsewhere via an eBay power seller. But it's only for a 1PC.

  • has anyone seen the error about "group policy client failing to start" at all … it appears as a padlock as the desktop appears on a reboot/startup

seems to be on windows 8 or windows 10

the computer seems to run slow…..

I have tracked it down to a few programs…. chrome & windows live mail and kaspersky…..

I only mention it because it seems to be on machines that I have installed kaspersky on them

I removed chrome and it seems to have fixed it… just wondering if im the only one?

  • So you download the trial version of Kasprsky from the web site

    https://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/internet-security-free-t…

and you use the key from SaveOnIt ?

Trying to Give Kaspersky a go after long looooong time.
