I have a bit of a feeling that this offer excludes sellers on ebay. Thanks for nothing Paypal.

One word of warning about ebay vouchers is that if the item is returned or refunded, ebay take the refunded money for themselves. There's no point returning an item for credit. Replacement might work, but refunds go to ebay, so your effort is 100% wasted. There is a real air if easy come, easy go if an item bought on a promotional voucher goes missing or is broken in delivery.

    • If its an actual unique code if you refund before the coupon expiry it would enable the coupon to work again.

Thats what happened when i had a groupon ebay coupon and had to do a refund.

      • If any amount is refunded you won't be able to use it since the coupon is valid for ONE transaction only. I just had this happen today. I ordered a book which apparently wasn't available after I paid. They refunded me what I paid with my own money plus what the coupon paid for. I tried to use what was left on the coupon and it's invalid.

        • Lodge a complaint and their marketing department would usually be able to issue you another one as a goodwill gesture.

  • I got 20

I got a 20, 10 and 20 through various accounts. Has anyone tried to use multiple vouchers for one purchase?

Edit: Assume the T&Cs #12 "Not to be used in conjunction with any other eBay or PayPal coupon/voucher." answers this. Anyone tried it tho?

  • i got $50 voucher but when i tried to buy something from target it says outer not active yet grrr wasted ages of my time.

    • code isnt ready yet? yeah got the same thing after it worked the first time when i didnt buy anything. was going to wait till today but wont let me.

    • I had the same thing. 2 hours later it worked on the same purchase. Persevere!

  • Thanks OP, I'd been ignoring that email.

I purchase off eBay at least once a week, received nothing.

My partner never uses her PayPal account, received a $20 voucher.

  • I'm just gonna have to continue living with myself for not subscribing to spam :-)

  • Madddd, I got a $50 one. Outlook didn't seem to trust the email though.

  • Managed 20 bucks from like 6 accounts … cant complain i guess.

  • Got $20 voucher. If only it came three days ago. Just bought $175 worth of stuff but didn't have C&C to avail the $50 eBay vouchers.

I got nothing and i've been using paypal since 2004!

I recieved a $50 paypal code email yesterday. When I try to use it for a purchase it says 'Looks like this code isn't ready yet. Please try again later. When will it be ready for use?

    • +4

I'm getting the same error. Also got the $50 voucher .

      • +3

I had the same issue. Called paypal. Said ebay issue. Called ebay said paypal issue. called paypal back who stated that it was a verified problem and will be in contact over the next 24 to 48 hours and my account had been forwarded to the resolution dept. I had my responsible adult voice on and they just kept saying sorry for the inconvenience and that they would be in contact. Long story short, they've sent out groupon codes, not paypal codes, hence the dramas on ebay. Hope this helps. If you have a voucher, i suggest waiting a day to use it. :)

        • +1

Thanks for the reply! I'll try it out tomorrow. I love how they bounced the problem back and forth. LOL. Typical ;)

        • Someone doesn't like true statements

I might have to shop less frequent from eBay to get a voucher next time.

  • All I got was $40 off my first Airbnb booking. Anyone want it?

    • they don't reward people who spend…

  • Just wondering if someone could tell me what the email address the vouchers were being sent from a whether it addresses you by name like all PayPal emails. Not sure if I received one but think I deleted something similar thinking it was spam…argh!

    • Yes, it addresses you by your first and last name

  • +2

I can confirm I got the $50 voucher and getting the "Looks like this code isn't ready yet. Please try again later." error, I have stuff in my checkout box ready to roll!!

  • +1

    I got $50 apparently

  • Hmm i tried to use mine just then but got an error code saying the voucher isn't ready - it was to just purchase a game from a UK seller but then tried one that had option to pick up at a local store :S anyone else getting this error?

  • Aww. None for me.

  • I tried the voucher as soon as I got the email to make sure it was real. Worked fine and took $50 off the total, but I was only testing the code and didn't go through with the purchase. Now i am getting an error saying the code isn't ready like some others in here…

    • Hmm I didn't even get through to having the code work at all.
Called PayPal they said it's Ebay's issue.
Now on the phone to Ebay - will let you know what happens and wether its worth a call to them.

Ah very interesting yeah so had the same rigamarole - Ebay said it's PayPals issue so I told her to call PayPal for me (using responsible adult voice of course). She tried and had no luck so she went and spoke to her manager who said something along the lines of a marketing error. Said to try again in 48 hours otherwise to call back.

        • I just tried my $50 code then and it worked - I did clear my cache first though and it went through no issue :)

  • None for me

    Pay-no-pal for me

sweet , one of my accounts got a $50 voucher.

  • +1

Don't bother calling them, took me twenty minutes to confirm with Paypal it was a legitimate email, they kept saying it could be a fraudulent message, I provided her my code and she quickly changed tune and said it was due to the codes not being activated

It's a bug in the system, they will fix it within 24 to 48 hours

Paypal blames Ebay, Ebay blames paypal
got through to a supervisor who was helpful

    Thanks once again, OP.

  • Yup mine works now! Spend away!

bad experience last 2 times I used this code. Both time bought few things on one transaction and some item has to be refunded due to faulty item or non-shipment. Every time Ebay took their portion from the refund I have to explain with 10 emails until I can get to use the credit again. May not worth all the efforts.

  • Got the email, last night and asked around the family + friends, just to see if anyone else got that 'suspicious $50; no minimum spend email'. Tried it tonight and it worked:) thanks paypal :)

    • Could you please tell me the email address it came from? Might have deleted n blocked the address thinking it phishing spam..trying to restore my emails but can't find the email!! Tia

      • +1

Could you please tell me the email address it came from?

it's from <[email protected]>. Did you delete it from your 'deleted items' folder? If so, it may no longer be retrievable.

Just curious, why did you think this was a phishing scam? It's a code you put into your ebay shopping cart- if it's legit, it'll work; otherwise it won't- no login required.

        • I was sitting at the airport n before I went into the departure area I recall looking at the email address and I don't recall it being from paypal so deleted it haha :( but maybe in my haste I was reading it wrong cos I was just abt to step into the departurs. I've restored my emails (surprisingly easy) but still can't see it…sighs Ah well! Wasn't meant to be :(

        • @KupoHo:

          It was meant to be.

  • I got 10% off (min purchase $25, max discount $50)

  • regular buyer on ebay/paypal. got nothing. had 4 random accounts with paypal too, none of them had anything :(

  • Nothing from me, spend quite a bit with them all the time too :(

  • got the $50 voucher yesterday. No idea what I want to buy though.

    • -4

If aren't going to use it, please PM me your code.

  • +3

Silver level Powerseller on ebay, ive grossed $30,000USD amount to atleast $3000USD fees in the last 3 months, yet I dont get any vouchers.
So Pathetic, makes me wish a worthy competitor like Amazon would hurry the hell up and open FBA Warehouses in Australia already…

  • The smell of entitlement here is strong…

    • Yeah ok, bet you got a voucher.

      • Nope, nothing for me

  • Used my $50 one last night. One purchase from a local seller, two other purchases from different sellers from overseas, voucher applied and worked (all were small time sellers). Looks like vouchers can be used on any purchases local or overseas. Suspect like a few others this promo was to get inactive or very irregular (like me) ebayers to use the service more. And not regular users. Oh well thanks ebay and paypal!!

    • So we can buy from different sellers??
I was in the perception that $50 must be used with single seller

      • Can only tell you what i did — three separate and different sellers , added each product into cart, one combined transaction, applied voucher. Didnt have to pay a cent. Transaction confirmed.

  • Does this $50 voucher have to be used in a single transaction, or can you buy something less than $50 now and purchase another item using the same code later on?

  • received $20 voucher from secondary account. I suppose I won't make any transactions on that to get future offers

  • I spent almost 3K in past 2 weeks using paypal and I got nothing.
    Really, paypal?

  • -2

Don't suppose anyone's willing to PM me their code they're not going to use?

  • They target inactive accounts so don't bother wishful thinking on your regular Paypal

  • Paypal seem to think we are dumb enough to believe it is 'random' (not targeting their infrequent customers) - I emailed and asked about where I can find a voucher from and below is the reply:

I apologise if the automated response did not answer your enquiry.

I really appreciate that you have been a member of PayPal since 200[x]. However, the PayPal system randomly sends vouchers as gifts to our members.

Looking at your PayPal account, I can see that you have already set your account to receive promotional emails. Rest assured that you should be able to receive promotional emails on eligible purchases.

I trust that I have address your concern.

Thank you for being part of the PayPal community.

At least they were pleasant about it, but I still think its unwise when a company decides to reward new or infrequent customers, without doing anything for the frequent ones.

    • Paypal seem to think we are dumb enough to believe it is 'random' (not targeting their infrequent customers)

active paypal user here (since 2011; multiple transactions weekly) and got a $25 voucher so not likely due to account inactivity

      • +1

Perhaps you use PayPal mostly for non-eBay?

Plenty of people on here suggesting the most active accounts with eBay / Paypal combined use aren't getting the $50 voucher at least. I've been a member for like 11-12 years and can't remember getting a targeted gift voucher from them in that time.

Perhaps the $25 is for medium-level ebay / paypal use

        • Perhaps you use PayPal mostly for non-eBay?

that's correct - my ebay purchases are usually months apart. However this voucher is not tied to my account - which IMO defeats the purpose of engaging inactive customers (if that was the intention of this promotion). FWIW, my paypal and ebay email addresses are different.

        • and the $0 voucher is the kick-in-the-nuts reward for their loyal users who are the ones lining their pockets.

  • Can the voucher be used after applying a discount code (eg. the 20% off Bing Lee sale code starting tomorrow?). I'm under the impression it can't but want to confirm if anybody knows please?

    • +2

ebay only allows 1 code per transaction - no code-stacking, ever.

      • Ok, thanks! :)
