100 QANTAS Frequent Flyer points for $1 @ BIG W

81

Neg me if I'm wrong, but buy any item in the current BIG W 'Sale' Catalogue and scan your Everyday Rewards card to receive your 100 points. Besides other promos, you would normally need to spend $130 to receive 100 FFP.

There are selected John Sands cards in the catalogue for $1.

I "activated" this deal in an email I received from Everyday Rewards, so you may need to be a subscriber to the email offers in order to be eligible.

• I got the e-mail too, the link is the same as yours, so I doubt it's anything different.

• You only need to spend $100 to receive 100 points from the Everyday Rewards. You just need to spend $30 minumum

• +4

Not that I know of. I know at least from Safeway (cause I work there), you only receive 1 point per $1 OVER the $30 mark. So $45 spend means you receive 15 points. At Dick Smith and Tandy's it's a $50 minimum before you start earning points.

EDIT:
Earn 1 point per dollar over $30* spent in one transaction at Woolworths/Safeway Supermarkets and BWS stores (excluding Tasmania) and BIG W stores. Earn 1 point per dollar over $50* spent in one transaction at Dick Smith and Tandy stores (excluding franchisee and re-seller stores)
from the Everyday Rewards site.

• Agreed, Jasrulz is right.

• Your right. Bastards said the $30 was just the minimum spend and you earn for EVERY dollar of the purchase when I signed up. Wonder if they changed or I was just misinformed.

• The safeway manager told me the same thing. Clearly this is not true because it now tells you on the screen when you start earning points. It now shows you the number of FF points you have earnt for the current transaction if you spend over $30.

EDIT: I think this is targeted offer that needs to be activated on an each account by basis. I just compared a couple of the strings and they have unique ID such as serial and user ID. Don't be dissappointed if you don't get the offer because you didn't activate.

• @Obs: I reckon they changed it, cause I'm sure it used to be every dollar as thats why I would up my purchase with chewing gum, etc up to $30. I usually make sure of things like this.

Edit: That and the fuel discount

• Quite sure it's always been like that.

• @JR63: Agreed. I've been a member pretty much since the beginning and I've never known it to be any different.

• i received a similar email stating that i would get an extra 700 FFP with any purchase over $30 (t&c states can be used only once during promo period )

• You need to do 3x $30 transactions for this one.

• hmm, I didn't get an email about this - I'm on all the lists according to my account…

• Did you get a quarterly statement email? That's where the links to these offers are.

• nope, maybe I haven't been signed up long enough (about a month).

• 700 EXTRA Qantas Frequent Flyer points
When you spend the qualifying amount* at any 3 Woolworths retail partners before 27 June. Click below to activate this offer.
*$30 or more at Woolworths Supermarkets, BIG W or BWS, $50 or more at participating Dick Smith stores

• The initial email is completely misleading, it states this:

700 EXTRA Qantas Frequent Flyer points
When you spend the qualifying amount* at any 3 Woolworths retail partners before 27 June. Click below to activate this offer.
*$30 or more at Woolworths Supermarkets, BIG W or BWS, $50 or more at participating Dick Smith stores

This gives the impression you only need to spend $30 at Woolworth and you should receive the points.
However here's whats on the link, it seems like you actually have to spend the money at three stores, not just one:

Thank you for participating in this offer! Simply spend the amount below at 3 of these stores before 27 June 2010 to receive your extra 700 points:
* $30 or more at Woolworths Supermarkets
* $30 or more at BIG W
* $30 or more at BWS
* OR
* $50 or more at participating Dick Smith stores
Remember to present your Everyday Rewards card at the checkout to redeem this offer

The terms of the offer specifically exclude gift cards:

"Offer excludes selected purchases including smoking/tobacco products, gift cards, BIG W Optical, DVD Kiosk purchases, selected services and selected online purchases including BIG W Photo, BIG W Entertainment and BIG W Movie Rental."

• I believe "gift cards" refers to the prepaid cards that you load up with $xxx and give to someone as a gift.

• Yep, gift cards are the $20 wish card for example, not a greeting card.

and even if it excluudes john sands cards then you can buy a colouring in book for $2 and (by my interpretation) obtain the offer for 100 points.

It would help if comments were related to the specific offer only.
