Gigaset used to be owned by Siemens. In the late nineties, these phones were very popular in Europe and the best you could get in terms of cordless phones.
I bought a gigaset not long ago, and the sound quality and noise-reduction is extremely good (compared to a non-gigaset phone I used before it).
