  • Cashrewards 1.25% or 2 Velocity Points for 1$ spent (thru Velocity eStore) which is better????

  • Will the 65KS8000 display normal FTA TV ok? Will be putting it on a wall on the family area and have no plans for foxtel, blu-ray, etc. Occasional netflix use at best.

Maybe it's overkill for what I need??? Hmmm…

    • +1

I've got the 65KS8000 and FTA looks great - especially the HD channels. Love this TV!

      • Thanks - I ended up grabbing the Hisense 65M7000 and saving ~$1200. Hopefully I won't regret taking the (much) cheaper option. :p

  • Ebay Error code - even when trying to proceed to Checkout -

Something went wrong. Please try to check out again.

    Error codes: 70245 70438

    • Try again in 20 mins. ;)

      • same error even now… anyone able to purchase?

        • I had the same error going through the ebay cart, but buy-it-now worked.

  • Thanks Trent great post :)

  • I paid $1,439 5 days ago at my local Good Guys, and reckon I should be refunded the difference under their price match policy.
I have just sent them this on their on-line contact form:
    "Good morning.
I purchased a Samsung TV on Sales Order S1100334647 on the 6th October, 5 days ago, for $1,439.
You now have it advertised on your eBay store at $1,151, with Click and Collect at my local store.
I believe that this should qualify me for the 30 day price match, and look forward to hearing from you on how to receive the difference."

    Added:
Spoke with the store person, and he reckons that we can get a credit.
It's going to be complicated, but he seems fair dinkum
I will sort it out this morning and advise the forum.

    • +3

      All good.
It's a bit complicated, but I will get the difference refunded.
Plug here for TGG Hectorville, SA, Customer Service.

      • Well done! May I ask did GG refund you the difference between the advertised prices BEFORE applying the 20% ebay discount, or AFTER applying the discount?

        • +1

I bought another TV of the same model on eBay with the eBay code, and put their store down as Click 'n Collect.

I took in my original, higher receipt, and they refunded that in full.

They were going to do some internal paperwork to reconcile serial numbers, so off I went.

          Bottom line:
I keep my TV that I bought last week.
I paid for another at 20% off that price.
          TGG refunded my original price.
I effectively ended up with 20% refund on the original price.

Excellent customer service from Hectorville Good Guys.

Edit: Full refund was in my bank account less than 30 minutes after I left the store :-)

        • @ChrisLevo:
          Thank you ChrisLevo :-)

      • I am a bit confused. i thought 30 day price guarantees doesnt cover ebay. guess u were lucky? im in a similar situation, filled in online form, waiting to hear from them.

        • Yes, i guess he is lucky. If i understand correctly, ChrisLevo bought another TV with the current price, got to the store, didn't pick up the new tv, "returned" it on the spot with the old receipt. It would have been easier if they just acknowledge the price drop. I guess another way of doing it is to take the TV and return it unopened in a few days. But what's the policy for returning an unopened item? TV is a bit difficult to transport…..a bit of a hassle but if it is saving $500. It might worth it!

        • +1

@koala9: It was not 100% straightforward, but I saved nearly $300.

I had a good read of their conditions about eBay stores and competitors, and really thought that I would not qualify for the refund, so was quite happy to drive for 5 minutes to get it.

BTW, my bank account has just been debited for the second purchase, two hours after the refund came up, and I'm happy about that :-)

        • @ChrisLevo: Yes $300 is a lot of saving. In my case, it would be ~$200. I would love to have this saving to pay toward the pressure cooker that i have been eyeing for months. The customer service at my local GG store is rubbish after my experience buying the TV from them so i doubt anything would come out of this. Anyway, I just called them to ask if they would acknowledge the current ebay price. The answer is NO. I was told that any price guarantee needs to be filed online. I don't know if they have any record of the transaction is through ebay. Anyone has experience with this? My original receipt is $1399 and their website is advertised as $1298. In principle, i could ask for this refund for price guarantee. That's ~$100 saving ($50 only after minus the delivery fee) rather than $200. Ebay $1036, I paid $1189 (15% sale a while back on ebay). It isn't much in the end if they ever acknowledge their own online price.

        • @ChrisLevo: Oh by the way, TGG doesn't even acknowledge the price drop on their own website. So i cant even get a refund if their advertised price is now lower than before (not counting ebay discount). Lucky you!

        • @koala9: I received a response to my on-line enquiry:
"Unfortunately your 30 Day Price Guarantee has been declined as our policy excludes The Good Guys own Pricing as well as purchases made or claims against eBay.

We do not Price Beat for advertising errors, prices which include bonuses, limited or group buy offers, clearance products, promo code and finance offers, or cash backs and discounts including where offered directly by a supplier or a third party. Does not apply to items sold on marketplace websites such as eBay, to The Good Guys own pricing or any brand it sells on behalf of a third party supplier under an agency agreement. These terms and conditions are subject to change."

I received the refund on the 12th, and the email denying me a refund on the 13th.

It was the 'phone call that did it, I reckon.

Op, might want to update your post for the Samsung Series 8 and 9 TV's also qualify for 36,000 Velocity points.

    http://www.samsung.com/au/velocity/

  • Best 65" in the sale - Samsung vs the Sony - is the Samsung worth the extra $$$… For the living room wall to replace an old plasma. Thought the picture on the Sony looked good.

  • The eBay listings for these TVs except the Panasonic expires on Friday 05.30 and 22.30 depending on the listing. These listings also include an advertised special discount that may be removed and revert to the standard retail price.

You can view the expiry date of the listing by adding the item to your watch list then check you watch list.

  • what's the best OLED tv (60" or above) for PC and ps4 gaming?
    Sony, LG or Samsung brand?

    • +2

Seeing as LG are the only OLED's, it an easy question.

      • apart from OLED, any 4k?

        • Samsung KS8000 65". Most reccomended LCD TV on Rtings.

        • +1

Yep agree with the Samsung. I'm only getting the 55inch but would get the 65inch if WAF approval was given LOL

        • +1

@relliksalta: Yeah I've purchased the 55" KS8000 from this sale. A 65" would be cool for bragging rights, but realistically it's too large for my current room, and I'd prefer to spend the spare $1,000 on something else.

        • +3

Don't forget to apply for the Velocity points..36,000

        • thanks all. does any one know how much costco selling the 65" KS8000 for?

          Something interesting. Anyone knows better?

        • @relliksalta: Nevermind

        • @devang153:

No longer relevant, Game mode with HDR comes in at 21ms with the newest firmware.

Motion handling is reasonably poor though with 30fps games..

  • +5

Bit the bullet and got the Samsung KS8000 65". Might as well spoil myself. Cheers, OP/TGG.

    • +4

Well done. Hope all goes well when you share the news with a spouse/partner if applicable :)

      • Haha she's cool with it. 4K Netflix/HDR gaming babyyyyy

    • Same! Enjoy

  • So many TV options can't decide. Please help.

Set myself $2k budget. Primary use will be free to air TV, some blueray movies, and planning to get xbox one S for Xmas.

    • Hisense 65M7000. At least that's what I got and just a smidge under your $2k budget. ;)

      • Depends on the size of your room. Mine could only fit a 55" so went for the KS8000. Unsure about the larger sizes.

  • Ok so the standard question. Will these be much cheaper at Christmas? I'm in no immediate rush but with 20% off and velocity points the Samsung KS8000 is possibly in my price range now.

    • Pretty sure it will be cheaper but can you wait that long?

  • HI guys,

Hoping one of you can help me..

Looking for the most feasible TV for family living room, watching HD sport on (specifically, premier league and AFL and the occasional NBA). I will also need to be compatible with FIFA 17 and other sporting games, but not much of a gamer so don't need the excessive refresh rate that many would need for most games.

    Thanks!

    • Samsung UA55KS8000W 55" SUHD HDR LED Smart 100Hz TV $1996(ebay.com.au)

      -HRD
      -100hz
      -SUHD
      -8000 series
-55' is big enough for a family room
      -$4 under budget

You'd be silly not to buy two of these

  • Thanks OP, got a 70" LG!

  • I'm after a Panasonic around the 40" mark UHD 200Hz, anyone seen any deals under $700 for these?

  • -4

Can we combine this 25$ voucher for digital catalogue subscription????

  • Hi all - any big difference between the KS8000 and the KS9000? Thanks.

    • +4

Nope, virtually the same. Rtings recommends to save the $$ and get the KS8000.

      • Thanks nubyz!

  • I tried doing pickup at checkout but it keeps coming up as an error, so I had to pay $12 for delivery :(

I got the Breville smart oven pro for $60 off compared to last week's $20… Thank you Mr leaker

  • looking for a 4k tv 55"/60". Looks like its either Samsung or LG. Concensus seems to be the 8 series Samsung for the way to go. I do not game so main use will be tv mostly sports on Foxtel HD and watching tvshows/movies off USB so has to be able to display those well. Any recommendations?

  • Finally got the Samsung 55" U6000 UHD (of course i'm with nab and they went down just as i click pay).

  • best 55 inch for 1k-1.2k from this deal is it stilt he Samsung?

  • I am trying to compare Samsung UA55KU6000W against LG 55UH652T, can't see these model on rtings any best source for one-to-one comparison ?

Any suggestion for ozbargainer using either of these models ?

    • Remember that the price difference between the 6000 series and 8000 series Samsung is offset by 36000 Velocity points which is equivalent to 2 x return tickets from BNE to SYD.

By the 8000 series and use the points to soften the blow by a holiday :)

      • Samsung UA55KS8000W ? doesn't fit my pocket

  • It's a shame that GG don't stock Panasonic as there 4K LED TV's are the only ones that have local dimming and have also been critically praised as superior picture than Samsung and Sony top-end models. It's also a shame that rtings.com also don't review Panasonic models.

    • +1

What do you mean? The very first set mentioned in the post title is a Panasonic 4K.

      • I was referring to Panasonic's 55-inch and above models

  • Which one is good?
    Samsung UA60KU6000W 60" v/s G 60UH652T 60"(151cm) ?

    Please provide me your comments?

    • The LG seems to suffer from massive DSE issues. There's a thread on whirlpool and the comments on the first page also suggest that a few people are having the same issues.

  • Does anyone know if the invoice mentions the 20% off

  • +2

Stay away from the 6000 series Samsung's if you're picky about your viewing experience.

I've had two of them and both had severe backlight bleed along the bottom of the screen, and add to that - the TV's don't do judder free 24p (movies) playback, so when camera pans (etc), it judders.

The 7000 series is no better, either.

I have a Sony X8500C now, and it's brilliant. Way better than all 3 Samsung TV's I went through.

  • Some day, when 50” 4K HDR TVs will be $400 a pop, then I’ll bite.

  • Bummer….should have known better that ebay always has 20% off with goodguy. I rushed in to buy the panasonic 50" TV less than a month ago on ebay with the 15% deal (only offered it for a few days). It was $1200 + $50 delivery fee. The delivery fee is actually more expensive than if i would have chosen it when check out with ebay. The goodguy store guy just wouldn't willing to fit the 50" into my 4 door sedan so paid for the delivery on the spot. Now it is only $1036! I feel a bit ripped off……..

AND touchwood that you don't have any problem with the TV. Goodguy after sell service doesn't exist. I don't think i am allowed to elaborate here. That belongs to the customer service section.

    • Hi Koala9 - did you get the Panasonic TH-50DX700A 50" UHD LED 3D Smart 200Hz TV? What are your reviews on it? I'm tempted to get the same one. Thanks.

      • +1

I know I'm not Koala9, but I purchased the TH-50DX700A 50" from GG last round of discounts and it is a beautiful TV. I have always loved my Panasonic Plasma's and was worried the picture wouldn't be as good, but easy transition to this model.

My only disappointment (other than paying $53 more) is the lack of the Pandora radio app (and can't add it at this stage…).

When I viewed this model in store it was a standout.

It looks like GG have added the 65" to the sale - but they have jacked the price up by $500!!

        • +2

Hi, rafsta, as Mr Richie said, it is a beautiful TV. I don't use it for gaming so can't tell you any aspect of it. The 4k is stunning and the colour is great. I was considering this or the samsung. The GG guy tried to convince me buying the 49" samsung (~$1k and $200 cheaper than panasonic at the time) but spec wise the panasonic is far more superior. The only problem that i encounter is tingle feeling around the frame and legs. I'm not sure if that's normal. It is like the TV isn't properly insulated. I have never used other smart TV so cannot compare the app store. I am a bit disappointed about it not having many apps at the beginning but that's minor issue to me in the end.

Mr Richie, how can it be $53 more in your case? With this sale, it literally costs $200 more for me! I assume you don't follow the last sale page….I am interested to know if you also have the tingle feeling with your TV frame.

        • Thanks Koala9

        • Thanks Mr Richie

        • @koala9: Hi koala9, sorry, that was my poor calculation…I paid $1189 with the 15% off - CR.

I haven't noticed any tingle to touch, the only difference being that I wall mounted it. I'll double check tonight and let you know. That does sound a bit strange…

        • Hi Mr Richie and koala9 - do you remember unpacking the Panasonic tv? Did you find the styrofoam parts broken up to pack the tv? And the accessories (stand and screws) were just taped to the styrofoam? I feel like it's a refurbished tv.

        • +1

@rafsta: My styrofoam was in a solid piece from memory, the legs were inside the styrofoam but well packed in plastic and taped into the foam. Mine looked brand new for sure - had plastic tape covering the face trim around the screen and some other parts which had to be peeled off also… Let us know what happens

        • @Mr Richie: I sent a message through ebay 'Contact seller' and I was asked to bring the telly in to any stores. I brought it to Brighton and exchanged it. But the packaging was still the same - with 3 broken Styrofoam pieces to protect the TV. I've emailed Panasonic for now and waiting for their reply.

  • Which 55in TV should I get around the $900-1000 mark?
Samsung UA55KU6000W looks okay, but there was the Hisense 55 Series 7 for $1115 which is not a bad price too

55" sony FHD TV for $956 pickup. no 4k though.

    • I'm thinking to get either this, Panasonic TH-50DX700A (smaller, but seems better among all 3 entry level ones) or LG 55UH652T.
If you're in VIC, the LG is on official VEEC list too (for more rebate), though others may come in the updated list later on (we have until Jun 17 to claim), but no guarantee. Currently leaning toward Panasonic from the review I read though

  • I didn't buy any of those things listed but I did get a LG WD1410SBW 10kg Front Load Washer for $1199. THANKS EBAY!

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-LG-WD1410SBW-10kg-Front-Load-…

  • $2156 for the 55" OLED 55EG910T is a bloody good price.

    • +2

      curved though:(

      • I know some people hate the curve. I'm not a massive fan of it myself but I'd still prefer curved OLED to flat LCD any day. It's really quite a subtle curve anyway and not that big a deal in my opinion.

Nowhere near as noticeable as LCDs light bleed and dirty screen effect ;)

  • Are the phones Australian stock?

    • Yes everything the Good guys sell are Australian Stock

      • In that case - also a good price for the Galaxy s5. $436 for AU stock

  • +3

Just purchased the LG OLED 55B6T, good saving and yes very expensive for a 55 inch but an amazing picture. They have already called me and its getting delivered tomorrow

Would have loved the 65 inch but the room and my wallet is not big enough for that

  • Has anyone received email or SMS for order ready to pickup for TV?
EBay page was saying In Stock and ready to pickup within 6 hours!
Ordered at 10 am , still no update.

Called Store and they said they haven't received any uodate yet!!!

    • +1

Nope, I did not that checkout indicated something about being available the following day. Assume it's an overnight system update to the stores.

    • +1

IME they are very slow with click and collect orders. I think there is a delay of one day like the other poster suggests. It is quite annoying actually, because usually they tell you it is read in the late afternoon of the next day :\

      • Yeah it's annoying as last couple of times I received ready to pick up email within 2-3 hours of the order but directly from their website..
        Hopefully tomorrow 😊

    • My ebay says they are preparing my order. Anxiously waiting to get my KS8000 home.

      • Mine says same: being prepared…

        • Mine is ready to be collected.

  • Urgh decisions decisions..
Samsung KS8000 UHD or the LG FHD OLED?

    • KS8000 is not quite OLED level but it is very impressive nonetheless and certainly one of, if not the best LCD on the market. I'd go for that and save a bit of $$, also claim 36,000 VP and enjoy a holiday somewhere. I watched The Revenant in 4k UHD Blu-Ray on ours the other day - stunning.

      • I've been very swayed by the comments on here about the KS8000 BUT I don't watch any 4K content at all, just lots of free to air off the FetchTV, partner loves his youtube and Netflix (but we don't get 4K on that yet). So I'm wondering if OLED would look better for the stuff I do use it for. I'm worried that the upscaling would look strange though… gah!

        • Do you often watch TV in a dimly lit room or from an angle? If so, go OLED. If not, go LCD.

  • I have been looking for the Panasonic TH-65DX700A for a while and they have added it to their eBay sale for $3,496:-

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Panasonic-TH-65DX700A-65-165c…

And it is on their GG website for $2995:-

    https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/panasonic-65-inches165cm-uhd-…

Seems REALLY dodgy to me…Are they allowed to do this??
