I can put in the cart, but cant get past payment. It says wait etc and then goes back to DM home page and the giftcard is still in the cart? Tried chrome and Opera mobile.

It my experience at a local Caltex Woolworths (Warrigal Rd, Chadstone) you cannot.
Not sure whether this applies to all though.
Exchange the Egc with Wish card at WW and then you can use it at Caltex WW

I believe there's Woolies owned ones (which work) and Caltex owned ones (which usually don't).
On my first attempt to buy $50 gift card, I got $10 loyalty bonus (I bought from dan murphy's online previously for my alcohol requirements), so I changed to $60 gift card, which came down to $50 and got the email from amex.
With my second purchase using different card, $50 gift card.
For my third purchase, again I got $10 loyalty bonus, so ended up buying $60 gift card again…
Curious if anyone managed get a similar deal.

Usually when a transaction is cleared on AmEx Issued card, you see "Redeemed" for the offer however in my AmEx Essentials card, after the Dan Murphy transaction went through (no longer pending), the dan murphy offer is still shows as "Saved to card". How about other people?

Another tip: Download Woolworths Money app onto iOS, add the gift card to the app. It shows WISH gift card too and you can track credit left :)

Apparently I read somewhere that Westpac and CBA AMEXes have the same card number as the primary cardholder.

Only Amex connect amex cards usually get the email. Amex direct ones will work, but you only sometimes get the mail. Wait around 2-3days max upto 5 days for it to show up in your account. Don't worry.
Credit just appeared in account. (Checked before midnight AEST and it wasn't there.)
