And yes, even though the T&Cs state "exclude gift cards", it has been done many many times successfully before .

I don't think they are on the website. Previous deals have included in-store purchases, that's when the gift cards were bought.

There are few more offers that I've been unable to enrol for from the AMEX connect website. (Eg. the duty-free offer, after logging in when I click on enrol it redirects me to the AMEX account info homepage).

You can get both but easier to get digital as you don't have to wait for it in the post.

Important note
Don't use Paypal you must use your Amex directly.
Also if I remember correctly, last time Dan cottoned onto what people were doing & removed the giftcard amount on the Amex offer..so they might remove the $50 giftcard . i.e. get in whilst it's still there or you might have to buy 3 x $20 ones.

Got a confirmation after the purchase which said,
