Just to comment on this further.. I reckon once some competition comes in the form of nbn, telstra will be willing to do some better deals with me.. At the moment they know that there is nothing else I can switch to. They have me over a barrel.
Even today when I was looking at switching to the $95 plan which included 1tb of data instead. They wouldn't transfer the $100 credit that I got for the previous offer or offer me free speeds boost etc. I've also had some issues with my ID not being scanned correctly by telstra staff and now I have to go in again. The best I could get out of them was $40 credit and that was after hanging up on the support and speaking to a new person.
Just upgraded my 100GB plan that I was paying $75 a month for to the 500GB plan got it for $80 / month I asked for speed boost but they said no after checking with supervisor, but instead waved the $50 recontract fee.
So essentially paying $5 a month for another 400GB internet, Old topic I know but throught I'd contribute. It took me 2 different 24x7 chat reps to get this.
While I didn't get the $10 discount. There was a popup when I clicked off the page during sign up which offered me $100 credit if I finished signing up. So like.. $2.4 discount a month over the 24 months. Obviously clicked accept..
Don't know why people are so against telstra. They're the only ones who rolled cable down my street and nbn is still 3 years away, adsl2+ is syncing at 2mbps down and 0.3mbps up. Even if this plan was $150 a month I'd still get it.
