Redmi Note 3 Pro 3GB/32GB $159.99 US (~$209.86 AU) This is not international version. I think it is better paying $10 more for global Rom. remember there is hardware difference too along with software. Global version supports more LTE channels.
    Here is link http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Xiaomi-Redmi-Note-3-Pro-5-5-I…

Note: Aliexpress is cheaper if you go through cashrewards. around $156 free but long shipping times.

    Are these guys reliable?

    • yeah I have bought from them many times, not a single problem.

    • Reliable, but they will SPAM the shit out of you after the first purchase.

      • But you can always unsubscribe from their junk, right?

        • +1

It took me a while, they had subscribed me to a few different lists, and the unsub links didn't work of course…I ended up having to email them to get removed from all.

Just do an end run around the issue & use a disposable email…I blame myself for using my real one with any Chinese company.

If you use gmail, sign up with [email protected]
Any text after the + gets ignored so you'll still receive the necessary emails without having to create a new account. But it allows you to create a filter to delete all emails sent to the +gb email address.

      • A newsletter every couple of days is all I get and the same for any of the other Chinese stores. Just unsubscribe from it.

  • The media box doesn't have wireless ac. Otherwise I might've jumped.

    • My mistake. Sorry. Edit: Why would they leave it out?

      • all the work in these is done by the soc and they are targeted at the budget market …. to drive ac wireless would add a lot to the cost and i'm not sure there would be a visible performance increase. there are higher powered android boxes but they cost more…. these are cheap enough for one per tv…. i have 3 , 2 of the older units and a new mini s902.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Beelink-GT1-TV-Box-Amlogic-S912-O…

Here's an alternative to the T95Z. I've had mine for a few days now and love it. Not sure who manufacture's the T95Z but Beelink provide updates to their products and listen to the community.

    • +6

Beelink really should have been the ones to leverage the power of hexagons! ;)

      • I was actually thinking about getting the T95, it was a tough choice between the brand name and the hexagon. Hope I made the right choice.

        • +1

Manufacturer is Xlintek and have provided TV boxes for Beelink in the past. Besides OTA, Geekbuying often provide firmware on their blog.

        • … and, for completeness, this box's OEM is Sunvell and here's their list of their clones based on Amlogic S912.

If a product doesn't bear their manufacturer's name/brand, it doesn't say much for their confidence in it or support they intend to provide. (Working well or not) they just stamp them out as quickly as they can before next chipset or version arrives.

        • Not necessarily, Big brands make for smaller brands oem and do not put their names. You would be surprised to know this in the white goods and milk industry. Woolies and Coles homebrand milk is a very good example.

    • Are you using Kodi? If so, any problems with it?

      • +1

So far so good with Kodi. I'm actually watching Narcos in 4k on it right now. :)

Streamed over the network (SMB share and Ethernet) and it's absolutely smooth, using the pre-installed Kodi v16.

        • 24Hz video?
          Pass-through HD audio?
          lip-sync?

        • 4K Narcos on Netflix via GT1 ?

    • I bought the beekink GT1 and so far very happy.

  • Hopefully it's not been asked before, but what is the difference between Redmi Note 3 PRO and Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime?

    • +1

Sellers like to use different names for the same product. The Note 3 Pro and Note 3 Prime should be the same phone.

      • Ok thanks, I thought so too

    • Actually there is a difference.
Redmi Note 3 - has the Mediatek chip running it…
Redmi Note 3 Pro - has the Snapdragon 650 chip running it (way better than mediatek) 2GB of RAM 16GB ROM
Redmi Note 3 Pro Prime - Snapdragon 650 chip, 3GB RAM 32GB ROM

Massive difference - get the Pro Prime version… it's much much faster.

      • Nice info! Thanks!

    • Well yeah… that costs more than this.

For a little bit extra we could go for the R-Box Pro with 3GB of RAM ;)

I got email today with $10 off code. Code seems to be generic.

$10 off coupon for orders over $200: 10$ORDER200

    • It doesn't stop there…

      6% off sitewide - SET6OFF
      $15 off $210+ - SET15FF

      From this promotion

      • Hi Clear, I tried to use the SET6OFF on a Redmi Note 3 Pro 3gb international version which is listed for US169.99 however it increased the price rather than taking the 6% off. Is this an error or is this code not supposed to be used for this purchase?

        • I think when you apply 6% off then it consider the original price for the discount where $169.99 is already discount price.

  • Does Redmi Note 3 Pro support 3G+4G? Some says after the latest update it supports 3G+4G. Also, anyone tried custom ROM like CM and does it support 3G+4G?

Is this item the same on eBay and selling for less : http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/401187107689

    • That's the exact product, but how reliable is the seller?

      • +2

        Let's not forget to add:

        Postage: AU $55.99

        Now, I'm no Mathematologist, buuuttt…

  • The media player looks really good for the price. Anyone has some hand on experience?

  • +2

They really nailed the aesthetics on the t95z

  • What kind of IR remote this media player comes with and does it come with an English user manual?

    Package Contents
    1 x TV box
    1 x IR remote
    1 x HDMI cable
1 x Power adapter (A right AC Adapter will be sent as your shipping country)
    1 x User manual

  • So I've started researching Tv boxes and what to get. Can anyone tell me the experience they have had with this box? And if they where able to get free movies/ tv shows using kodi add-ons? And if so how easy where the add-ons to install? Because this does look like a good deal but I'm kinda of new to the whole "free" tv box stuff. Cheers

  • This code no longer works on the T95Z saying that the minimum cart amount is $67; whereas the T95Z is for $63 on the site.
