241

Down from $121 AUD, not sure how long for though!

Play-Asia are generally known for video game products but they seem to be selling keys as well now.

Windows 8.1 Pro also available for $22.90 AUD

Ah..Play-Asia, please steer clear of these guy, have a lot of bad experience with them, and their after sale support are horrible. Took me about 8 weeks to get refund for item that never arrived.

Sigh, let me bring up that fiasco of them stuffing up a sale of the PS3 copy of The Last of Us a few years ago again. Absolute terrible service that one <shaking head>

Those keys are not legal. They get MSDN and startup business keys and sell them, and on occasion Microsoft disables them. DO NOT USE.

I got one Win 10 Pro OEM key from them a few months ago, I paid via paypal. The key turned out to be a pirated one.
They were quite quick to respond though and offered to send another key or a refund. I chose refund and got my money back.

      Free… Uni…

Can you not see the irony in that? 😂

      • Smart guy!

  • Buy the w8.1 key for $22.90. clean install w10. Activs with w8.1 key.

    • where do you buy win 8.1 key?

      • Message me.

    • You sure about that? I thought the upgrade program ended already? Or is it a bug that only works with 8.1?

      • this still works (a clean install with the win 8.1 key)

        • Do they make you accept a different EULA to your 8.1 EULA?

Does it work for Windows 7 still?

        • +1

          @lostn:

Works both 7 and 8 keys. Have activated many PC's since the free upgrade cut off with both retail keys, and OEM keys on back of the laptop, after clean installing w10.

They've ended the upgrade, but clean install activation seems to still work.

        • +1

@edshays: can confirm a CLEAN install from scratch indeed results in the upgrade offer being made available. No idea whether this is intended it would seem like a strange strategy.

Gonna revoke my +. Just bought a Win 7 key and it's not valid. :/

    • LOL - of course it isn't.

Microsoft doesn't sell keys that way, nor do they allow resellers to sell them that way.

I bought a 10 pro last week with no issues 🤔

    • …… and in 2 weeks time, a month, 6 months?

      • I bought a Windows 10 Pro (OEM) key not from Play-Asia though but from CDKeyHouse for around the same price and so far being over 2 months later it's still going with no issues.

  • If you want to check the authenticity of your key, call Microsoft and tell them the key.

They will tell you exactly what sort of key it is.

    • Or after activation you can tell what sort of key it is in the Product ID. I activated my Windows 10 Pro (OEM) key bought from CDKeyHouse and the Product ID ends in AAOEM. That = OEM.

      • +1

Yeah but Microsoft can tell you more over the phone than just that it is OEM. They know who they sold the key to - in that case, which OEM manufacturer.

If someone sells you Windows and you want to know it's legit, speaking to Microsoft is the best way to get the most info. But bear in mind, if it isnt legit they will kill the key instantly - for example if is an MSDN key…
