    Price in title.

  • +1

What's the PS4 Pro's RRP? EB Games seem to have them for $559.

    • -1

      yeah price is inflated…

      • +20

$559 is PS4 Pro's rrp, ebay listing price is higher as it has shipping included in the price and some compensation for eBay & PayPal fees

      • +1

You are going to save $50 after all. How much out of your pocket counts.

  • -1

idk when you put the price up but $592 is more expensive then your very own store.
while the G29 you listed is the exact same price on both your store and ebay

i understand ebay and paypal fees but with another item only slightly less is price has no price jump on ebay its leads me to wonder why?

    • +15

Our website does not offer free shipping, but our eBay listings require free shipping for a number of reasons (listing benefits etc), so the eBay price will be higher as it is calculated based on website price, plus averaged shipping price, plus a percentage of the eBay & PayPal fees (we absorb what fees we can to stay competitive on eBay)

      • -2

However you list the Logitech G29 and G920 on both ebay for the same price $399 why higher then RRP on the ps4 pro and not the G29/G920?

        • +21

we absorb fees where possible, which varies from product to product - consoles specifically are notorious for having little to no margin for resellers

        • @TheGamesmen:
          Hi store rep.
Can I ask if I have a problem say with the thrustmaster t300rs, is the item a back to base at buyers shipping expense or is there a thrustmaster service centre or something? Really want to buy it but hearing too many issues.

  • Your xbox one s 500gb fifa 17 bundle is $440 on ebay but $388 on your website… That's almost 15% ;)

    • +9

Ebay + paypal is just shy of 13% in fees..

If we all disconnected from ebay simultaneously, we'd be SO much better off.

      • -1

No it's not. Depending on store ebay fees are as low as 4%

      • +1

If they are going to raise it by 15% to cover ebay fees, this was all for the seller, not the buyer.

It would mean that when ebay is not subsidizing the sale, they must be taking massive 15% losses in margin on everything. Or absorbing them.

    • +14

      But hey im no expert.

The only part of your comment that I understand (and agree with).

Are you suggesting they jacked prices up compared to their normal website? If so, read the rep's responses regarding eBay fees and so on before having your rants.

At least these guys are up front about needing to account for fees and shipping, unlike major retailers (remember the Gamesmen only have the one retail store) who just jack their prices up without responding to questions and comments.

        • +8

Im just saying sometimes you need to make a small lose to make things move.

Or they can just continue doing exactly what they're doing seeing as they're still offering it cheaper than anywhere else is.

        • Why would rep want to "lose a few $ just to make things move?"

  • -3

Yes, would have purchased straight away if it was reasonable 15% off. But like most sellers discrepancies that are quite high % wise is a deterring factor to checking or purchasing from you.

  • Damn… And I literally just placed my preorder for the ps4 pro today @eb…

Dunno if i should risk buying this online and selling old console for $50+ savings… Or have trouble selling cause of scammers and time wasters…

    • +4

You can always cancel your preorder with ebgames at anytime.

  • -3

The official RRP of PS4 Pro (when it launches) is $559.95 [http://www.kotaku.com.au/2016/09/heres-the-australian-pricing-for-the-playstation-4-pro/]. Good luck trying to sell it over RRP, and that too on OzBargain. A measly 9% saving, after factoring in eBay discount - I'll wait for better deals in November.

    • +1

Im with you but we will have to wait 1 year not in the first month.

    • -7

      With you

    • Shipping is included, I'd say that's a fair price for a big bulky console

Also its extremely rare you'd save anything for a console at launch

      • "Also its extremely rare you'd save anything for a console at launch" You realise the PS4 Slim just launched and we had a deal with it $100 off.
Plus there's an ongoing deal with it $50 off. It's practically guaranteed that some retailers will charge below RRP.

        • +1

Apples and oranges, the Pro is a new console, the slim is basically the same console as always.

  • +43

What's with all the lynching of a long standing independent games retailer? They're doing their best. Some discount is better than none.

    • +22

A lot of fkwits on ozb these days :(

    • +2

      This. Exactly, this.

To both of the above actually.

  • Any deals on the buttkicker bass transducers?

  • Any deals on upcoming games (Mafia 3, Battlefield 1, COD)

    • None of these are on their ebay store.

      • yes, I am aware of that.

  • With Forza Horizon 3, when will it dispatch?

    • +1

If you are going to planning to play the game on PC then avoid all the physical copy version. Only digital version will allow you to play both on PC and xbox.

  • Do you have any deals on board and card games? I've a couple on my wishlist but the prices are better at ozgameshop when they have the occasional 10% off sales.

  • +3

Still 2 months away. It could be cheaper if the price drops + 20% ebay code.

  • +1

yeah i am waiting for a ps4 pro bundle with the last guardian or a 20% off deal i got the original ps4 for just under $400 when dicksmith started having those crazy sales and i got extra controller for $60, i just recently sold them both on gumtree for $450 just before the pro was announced which i still can't believe someone paid.

    • Wow, nice. I might try my luck selling mine.

  • -7

And yet you're charging $102.95 for an Xbox One S controller. You can't claim to not increase your price as if you're doing us a favour when you already charge well over rrp.

    • +3

Make a forum post ffs. Don't neg a good deal because you have problems with another product.

  • Ordered mine, thanks Gamesmen!

  • Hi store rep.
Can I ask if I have a problem say with the thrustmaster t300rs, is the item a back to base at buyers shipping expense or is there a thrustmaster service centre or something? Really want to buy it but hearing too many issues.

  • PS Pro is tempting.

Sure, there might be a bundle on release (I doubt the console itself will be cheaper), but it may just include 1 game and still be $560.
$56 saved off retail = 1 game anyway.

  • Thanks!

  • +1

    Isn't the whole point of listing on eBay to;
1 - Not put in the fees included in the price (for ethical business reasons)
2 - Sneaky way of offering "free" shipping when it's in the product pricing. (I know alot of company offer free shipping but usually the cost of the item is still retail or cheaper).
3 - Give the customer options from buying from a retail store or their company website

Since the PS pro is $559 RRP, their price is $592.95. Now with the 15% off, comes down to $504.01. Fair enough, but without that discount, I feel sorry for the people that purchased it for $592.95. Such sneaky business practices, Dick Smith did it, Bing Lee did it ALOT etc…..

    • +1

My suggestion.. this will not be the last 15% or 20% off ebay code. Wait till someone like TGG, Target, et al sells it. They won't sell it above RRP I don't think.

$559 is an unusual price. I thought they'd go for $549 to make it a rounded number.

      • TGG don't sell PS4's I thought, and if you are wanting the PS pro on release - hoping for a 20% off target on release day is a gamble.

If you're patient, you will definitely be able to get it cheaper. If you want a preorder - I think this will be the best bet.

        • By extension, preordering itself is no less a gamble. Maybe you will be able to get it at 20% off? Ebay has been quite continuous with them lately, and if that trend continues, there should be one around the time of launch or shortly after.

I don't need it on release day since I have a PS4, so I'm willing to wait. I don't think I'll have to wait long.

  • Anyone know if this thing will output at 1440p?

    • I don't think so.

      • That sucks then. It would not be difficult at all to include an extra output resolution.

        • If you watch a 1080p video on a 1440p tv/monitor it has to stretch the image and make it slightly blury. On a 4k (3840 × 2160) monitor since it's double the pixels a 1080p video would not have to use a bluring filter to increase the resolution of the video to match the monitor's native resolution, instead you can just double the pixels and retain the videos sharpness.

basically scaling it to 1440p monitor would be silly

        • @spedstyle:

Solution: Find out how PC games can run at any resolution supported by the monitor, and just do that. There's no need to upscale if you can render it natively at 1440p.

On a 4k (3840 × 2160) monitor since it's double the pixels a 1080p video would not have to use a bluring filter to increase the resolution of the video to match the monitor's native resolution, instead you can just double the pixels and retain the videos sharpness.

You'd actually have to quadruple the pixels, but it's still going to be blurry.

basically scaling it to 1440p monitor would be silly

Actually, most games don't render at 4K natively. They are rendering it at 1440p then upscaling it to 4K. Now to render something at 1440p in the first place then downsample it to 1080p, and then upscale it again to 1440p (after some detail was lost) for your monitor when it was already 1440p to begin with.. that is even more silly.

      • Why would it not? The PS4 outputs at every resolution up to 1080p, why wouldn't the Pro output at 1440p?

        • There are TV's at those lower resolutions, so they need to be offered as options. There aren't 1440p TV's, so it won't be one of the outputs offered.

    • From what I've read it seems like most games will output native/upscaled 4k if you have a 4k tv, otherwise it will just output 1080p with supersampling.

  • Good deal overall, tempted.

    Thank you Gamesmen!

I remember mail ordering from your printed catalogue, the brand new Sega Mastersystem, and later on, the Megadrive in the 80's and 90's from you guys! If i'm not mistaken, both were Cash On Delivery via the post office as I was still in primary school! Can't imagine how much abuse that service would get today haha. A belated thanks for that. Good times. Hope you continue to sell games to little brats like me forever!

  • Ordered PS pro - thanks guys.

  • Fantastic price, until I realised that the Pro is upscaling and not doing true 4K. https://www.engadget.com/2016/09/07/playstation-4-pro-4k-han…

    • You seriously expected a $400 USD console to do true 4K gaming?

That price wouldn't even buy you the GPU alone for a PC built for 4K gaming.

    • It does 2k upscaled for $550 Australian which is pretty dam good IMO.

True 4k, 60FPS gaming on consoles is years away and costs a fortune on PC

  • Still waiting to find out if it Finally supports Sata 3 before I buy.

I am so over slow loading times

    • Somehow I think you're going to be disappointed, even with SATA3.

There are enough other bottlenecks in the system that inserting a 500GB/s SSD is not going to make your 60 second loads into almost instant loads.

  • This item is out of stock.PS4 Pro 1TB Console
