  • do i get cash back ?

    • +2

      NO.

    • No,I am very sure both CR and PP have excluded cashback by now.

You can try, expected cashback amount showing zero.

      • What is PP?

        • PricePal

        • @CVonC: thanks

  • +4

Better than the 5.3% offered by Cashrewards (unless they want to up the ante and beat Groupon)…

    • +6

only plus point for cashrewards is triple points for Amex card holders…..Hmmm options

      • +3

Very good point.. which is actually pretty significant too, as when you factor in the points you earn it effectively becomes a 7.5% discount.

      • Can you please give me the cliffnotes on how triple points works? Don't you get charged a cash advance?

        • no

        • +3

The Woolies Gift Card website is considered "supermarket" spending, which attracts 3ppd for some Amex cards such as the Plat Edge. And Amex converts to frequent flyer programs (e.g. Singapore Airlines Krisflyer) at 1:1, instead of the crud 2:1 ratio offered on most bank-issued cards, meaning 3 points is really 3 points.

    • Just bought $500 from cash rewards today. Damn!

      • +2

        Uh… that's only a dollar difference?

  • Can these be used in Woolworths for my weekly Shop?

    • Yes, as well as Opal top ups

      • Location: Perth

        • +3

Another good reason to come to Sydney

        • @superbass: Hahaha great response. Didn't see that coming… touche.

        • +5

          @superbass:
"Another good reason to come to Sydney"

What was the other one? :)

          @jdr:
To enjoy blistering speeds of 0km/h in peak hour traffic of course.
Or, you can fix it just by magically closing entire roads!

    • +1

Hmm, new to WISH Gift Cards?
      Absolutely.

    • yes and woolworths petrol, dan murphys, masters,

    • -1

No, it is a strict policy

  • +5

Based on the fact that this is on 230 positive, this should be on at least as much.
The only benefit of that one as pointed out by lokesh above is the triple points when using Plat Edge.

    • I think TA will up it to 5.5% soon

      • +1

Need at least 6% to beat this deal

        • Only matched - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/265647. Yet it's almost got the same number of positives even though only matching this.

          Very weird.

        • @odysseus:
Woolies eGift from CR via Woolworths advantage: Delivery within 1-3 hours from payment to your email
Woolies eGift from Groupon: Delivery within 2-5 business days. However fancy coupon glitches can make it cheaper, also $10 Groupon "refer a friend" bonus that may or may not work.

    • Even current deal has more discount, it wont match that. Few users get more positives even the deal is normal.

  • +1

Top deal OP, eGift cards are becoming a lot more popular I have noticed :)

    • Probably because woolworths group is trying to get more people through. they compensate for the discounts on GC through the increased prices in their stores.

  • +2

What is this about a 'Free $100 Gift Card'? Sold out anyways, just wondering

    • i noticed that too. appears to be a free $100 gift card. we missed out obviously!

  • +3

Thanks OP. Need to offset my Opal fare increases because of the recent changes

    • End of an era. Last week paid a little over $15 vs my usual ~$9 (concession card). That's a kebab a week.

      • Probably a good thing. You'll be smick and fit in no time for summer!

Guys, the BUY2DAY coupon code is working on this deal. Just got a $100 gift card for $84.50 (15.5% off)!

    • -2

just tried. Didn't work for me :(

      • Same :(
Sorry, the code can't apply to this purchase. Check the code's rules.

      • +1

I believe you need to be a new customer to use the code…

    • +7

Finally joined Groupon for this….Wink Wink

      • Yeah same with me…. ;)

    • Thanks mate.

  • +3

Thanks picked up two $100 for $84.50 each

    • it worked!

    • Same grabbed 2 at 15% off!!

  • I bet Cashrewards will do 5.55% off soon, that is 0.05% more. a bit odd.

  • +3

Just be wary of creating a new account to avail of the code. I remember doing this a few months ago and Groupon took the money but didn't fulfil the order. Fortunately my credit card company gave me a refund a few months later so it was ok in the end.

    • Do you think they knew via payment method or ip address?

      • Payment method I reckon.

  • +1

Woohoo 20 cent saving! We really are talking big money now.

  • I used same credit card to make the 2 payments.

  • Brilliant. $200 for $169. Surprised they haven't closed off the coupon as they did last time real quick.

  • BUY2DAY not working anymore :(

  • Think they've closed it off. Didn't work for me with new account

  • I bought a $200 one in my haste and then realised that 2 x $100 was better value so hurried back but code is dead ahhh :(

    • Such is life

    • +1

Better value with two new accounts. Not otherwise. :)

      • Yeah yeah that's what I meant. Was half sleep (and too angry) at the time of my post :(

  • -4

    Bought 10x$100. Thanks

    • Hope you receive at least 1

  • ffs, just bought over $1K from cashrewards at 5.3%

  • +1

    damn it! missed out!

  • Cashrewards is also 5.3% off now too

    https://www.cashrewards.com.au/woolworths-gift-cards

    • The 5.3% isn't applying at checkout for me today… Anyone else?

      • Well it's now 5.5% at CR

        • Yeah all good, looks like I was trying to buy while they were updating the system from 5.3 to 5.5

        • @Tafe:

Yeah looks like I also got caught by that :/

  • Bought eight $500 vouchers, saving $200 in total. Great deal. This site has just proved its worth to me :¬)

    • Bought eight $500 vouchers, saving $200 in total.

      $220?

    • Did you create 8 Groupon accounts to get this? Salute your patience and persistence. :)

      • +1

If he only saved $200 ($220?), then it doesn't seem like he used the BUY2DAY code.

        • I did not try to use it because others here said it no longer works. How much extra would I have saved? I paid $3780 btw, so yes, did save $220 not $200.

        • @Joe Sixpack: If you did it in $100 vouchers, $400. The code no longer works though so it's too late. And you would have needed to make 40 groupon accounts….

        • @realfancyman: Thanks for that, I don't feel quite so bad about it now. 40 accounts, no way would I do that. I am too time poor. But thanks for your contributions; they are very valuable and interesting to all members! 😇

  • +1

Do we know how long it takes for egift cards to arrive? I guess it's not as quick as CR…

    • +1

CR purchase done directly through the Woolworths gift card portal.
      Groupon isn't :(
I'm still waiting for mine from Groupon

      • Same. Groupon voucher says that the actual gift card will be emailed in 2-5 business days so we'll just have to wait.

        • +2

          :<

      • +1

        Same here. I think it's been 5 days :-(

    • In the same boat. Hopefully I get both my gift cards. Paid both with the same CC, one via paypal though and the other through direct CC.

  • +3

Still have not received the codes after 2 days

  • Yeah, groupon takes their time. Cash rewards/entertainment book is much faster as it's direct through the Woolworths website.

    • Thanks for confirming my suspicions.
Now i remember why I stopped buying egifts from groupon.

Hope my referral bonus pops up… had 4relos jump in on the deal. Boom.

  • +2

anyone still waiting for their code? I still haven't received mine, i placed the order as soon as i saw this post and still haven't got anything. cashreward is much faster i ordered another one last night and received the card within 2 hours

    • +2

Yeah, I'm still waiting too. Bought early on, received order confirmation straight away, but still no egift card.

    • Groupon has taken about 4 days for me before

    • Note to myself, never buy from Groupon in the future. This taken too long for the eGift Card to arrive (compared with Cash Rewards).

      • +1

But does it really matter that much?

Need it quick? Buy from CashRewards
Don't need it so quick but need extra discount? Buy from Groupon (with these sorts of promotions)

And then.. use the one from Groupon later/further down the track. They're WISH eGift Cards after all which you're most likely gonna be able to use..

        • It does for me. When I purchase an eGiftCard, the expectation is to get it less than 24 hours or even instantly. It is electronically generated, so should not have to force customer to wait for 5 days to get it. Not everyone has some cash to use to buy another voucher in one month too.
