  • So much gaming power - so portable

Personally I'd strongly recommend against anyone investing in a 970m laptop at the moment. Unless you're desperate for a 14" you can get a GTX 1060 in a 15" for only $80 more: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gigabyte-P55W-1060-602S-15-6-i7-6…

Same specs as everything else, but the 1060 performs 30-40% better: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark…

And if you really are desperate for a 14", there are more models coming out soon with the 10 series GPUs.

  • from what i can see the laptops i did a price comparison on pc byte are about $300 more… milking the ebay 20% off…. so prob saving under 10%

  • You have this listed as $3,179
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/172330534209?_trksid=p2055119.m14…
It's $2,799 elsewhere. Can you drop the price? Isn't eBay eating the discount and not you?

    • Unfortunately, my cost is high on the new models plus stock number is limited

      • ok thanks

  • Before anyone purchases, be sure to check Pcbytes ebay feedback. 52 negs, 34 neutral in one month. Most are complaining of the seller not actually having stock, and slow/non existant shipping.

    • Hi majimaji,

We indeed have received quite a number of negs these few months. The main reason is that we have never been in these many ebay deals before. Therefore, we were quite overwhelmed with the responses/sales on ebay and couldn't handle everything perfectly. I must say it was quite a disaster in the first couple of deals. However, we are doing better and better and hopefully customers' experience is also improved.

      Cheers,
      Eric

  • Hi OP,

Care to comment on your company's price jacking for these sales? Do you have to pay to be a part of the sale or bear some of the discount, or do you do it solely as a profit maximisation strategy (not that there is anything wrong with that, that's the point of a business)?

Whatever the reason, the practise is viewed as quite misleading around here because it's not really 20% off when you jack prices up by 15% for the sale.

    • Hi CheapBrah,

Sorry, I can't really comment much on this.

      Cheers
      Eric

      • Eric can't comment because he is too busy counting the money made in these jacked up price ebay sales while simultaneously swiggin' from his bottle of grange.

        • Hmm more like busy counting my 12 year worth of eneloops (:

eBay would possibly make them sign NDA's about the deal structure
