LOL who gonna buy at RRP? ©ö©¬

  • Hmmm, I've been thinking about getting one of these and a slow cooker.

  • 8 Litre —- Shit that's huge !!

  • There is something similar on sale at DJs. I did see a black and a silver version, same brand IIRC, for a similar price.

    At Hornsby DJs.

    • Thanks for this info. I went to my local DJ and they have two brands: Tefal (French) and Fagor (spanish). 8 lt price for each $529(?) and $269. However DJ has 50% discount as part of their 1/2 yearly clearance.

Tefal also comes with a cookbook (FWIW :). I am tempted to go with one of these brands as i see this as a once in a lifetime purchase. I prefer Tefal model as it seems heavier but sure is darn expensive and has some cool features (folding handles and quick release/locking mechanism) and some silly ones (clock timer).

I am looking at buying this and made an inquiry with the manufacturers www.salton.com.au.

    Here is their reply:

All Russell Hobbs products have a two year manufactures warranty. The
RHCC008 Pressure Cooker is an exclusive product to K-Mart stores.

When on LOW Pressure is at 60kPa & 8psi and on HIGH Pressure 90kPa & 13psi.

The pressure Cooker is graded 18/5 Stainless Steel and the base is Stainless Steel, but encapsulated between Aluminum and therefore providing a great conductor of even heat.

Please call our Customer Service Department on Freecall 1800-427-842 if you require further information.

There is also a $79 pressure cooker at aldi. It is 6 ltr(i think). It has a few more extras for the inside but not important. I forget the pressure but think it might have been 6 and 15. the stainless steel is 18/10. But i am not sure what the significance of that is (from wiki: A typical composition of 18% chromium and 10% nickel ie 18/10).

It also has encapsulated Aluminum sandwiched between stainless steel layers.

There is also a place to buy online that seems good/competitive (but if you know a better one please let me know):

    • Very detailed research, any conclusion?

    • thanks,

  • bought one yesterday. it's not as big as we thought. will use this weekend.

  • The problem with pressure cookers is that the rubbers need to be replaced about every two years. Problem is trying to find replacement rubbers with some brands. Overall, pressure cookers are definitely the way to go.

  • Just bought one Today, where can i found cook book?
