Thanks OP. Got a 128GB to g owith my 64's I got last time. These seem to be pretty good.

    • Anyone know of any type-A USB3.0 in 128GB deals for this price?

  • Anyone know read/write speeds?

      did you read this listing?

      • +2

        Ah, missed that. Thanks.

Seems too slow for my liking. Considering getting one so I can use with tablets, but Type-C seems to be replacing Micro-USB and then it won't be useable on those.

I have one already and it's tiny. I'm thinking the same thing though about type c making this obsolete in a few years.

          Anyone recommend an adapter?

Edit found this article. Looks promising

          @harkoliar:
Only a physical adaptor is needed, not electronic.
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2-pc-USB-3-1-Type-C-Male-Micro-US…

        • @Rutger: Those will be device only, probably.

I've yet to see an OTG / Host type-c to micro type-b adapter.

Better to stick to the type-c to type-a female adapters.

        • @futaris:

The Xiaomi one in the link above seems to do the job according to the Amazon reviews.

I think it will be a while before we see 128GB USB Type-C OTG sticks at this price…

        • @futaris: I think Type-C to Type-B is not permitted in the spec. You can use a Type B device in a Type C port using an adapter, but not the reverse.

        • @lostn:

          Well technically it's a Type-C to Micro OTG Type-A.

If the Xiaomi one works, then they're wiring up the OTG ID pin correctly.

Still, if you want USB 3.0 / USB 3.1 Gen 1 speeds, then you're going to have to go through the Type-C to Type-A route.

      • Should have gone to Spxxxsxvxr. :)

  • Wouldn't recommend this, had one and the sliding mechanism between the two broke within a year. Made it basically unusable.

    • It seems Sandisk makes flimsy USB sliding switches.

My Extreme Pro 128GB stick is busted now too. I can't slide it anymore. And even though it has lifetime warranty, I don't know how to claim warranty with Sandisk AU now. Their website just links you to NA which refuses to deal with AU customers.

      • what about 1-800-262-504?

Thanks OP, being needing one so got the 128GB. Thank you :)

These are great for travel if you have an Android or Windows tablet - grab one of the cheap Lenovo Tabs for ~$95, plus one of the 128GB sticks here and you have a pretty decent entertainment pack for $130 that you won't be super worried about getting lost or stolen.

  • Getting this annoying error this morning
This code can't be applied to some of your items.

  • Anyone using one of these has hard drive?

  • Stay away from PC BYTE!

    • What happened?

      • It bytes. Lol

    • You don't stay close to Newington you mean!?

    • Check other PC Byte posts as well on OZB, I'm currently dealing with a fiasco, they mentioned they had stock of a RAM, purchased, been 2.5 weeks, still haven't received it, I messaged them the other day and they replied saying they're waiting for stock, at the time they messaged I went back to their eBay page for the item and it was still in stock!

Before this issue, I had another late delivery, they just don't seem to get it right.

      Futu is way better

      • Any 128GB USB3.0 type-A flash drives for the same price or less?

      • Ah! Futu san.

Thanks op. First stick bigger than 16gb…

  • Is this the same as just buying otg cable and hooking a normal usb drive to it?

    • Yes.

But it won't dangle off the port like a cable would.

  • Would that works with windows to go? Any one care to share?

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

    • Not sure what Windows 'to go' means. It works fine in my Windows tablet.

      • "windows to go" meaning loading your os onto the usb and run it with any computer. ;-)
