Lasers are almost always a better option than inkjets if you don't need colour.
I have this printer, the only negative I see is that the tray is open which means if you need to close the lid, the paper needs to be taken out.
Where did u get the $25 coupon?
Pity it's not wifi

$79 - $25 = $54 for wireless model…
I bought two of these and find the one I am using a disappointment.
Coarse looking resolution. Often unresponsive despite not having a paper jamb. Ink blobs accumulate on the drum.
Maybe there are better budget printers around.
I've been using one for a couple of months and don't have any problems…
My inkjet is better quality, but this is only costing me around 4c per page, whereas the inkjet is 12c per page.
PS. I'm using the HL-1210W, which is the wireless version…
Yeah I've been using the same. Never missed a beat since I've had it. Only using maybe one a week though
Wired/Wireless: Wired
This is USB ONLY, not ethernet…
Better off getting the HL-1210 which is wireless
Good Guys are selling it for $79, but you can get it for $65 at Officeworks with a price match from CPL
why not just have good guys price-match cpl and buy it for $44 with voucher? :)
Good Guys won't price beat by 5% though? Will they?
OW price will be 5% cheaper.
$25 off at good guys > 5% off at officeworks :)
$25 off at good guys
Not if you've already used the voucher or want to use it for something else.
The OW price for the item is 5% cheaper…
@jv:
Not if you've already used the voucher or want to use it for something else.
of course - but the crux of this deal is the $25 voucher:

then, it's a dupe and not a bargain…
@jv:
crux <> dupe :)
I bought this a few years ago at DSE for as low as $35 delivered. The print quality is terrible and often paper jammed. Not recommended.
I grabbed half a dozen @ ~$27 or so, not had a single drama…as a matter of fact, I'm getting huge mileage out of the starter toners in mine, over 1000 pages each so far, so I'm stoked.
Quality is what you'd expect for an entry level laser…we use ours on the desktop loaded with letterhead, couldn't be happier with them.
Agreed! This is a very good budget printer
I didn't have such good luck. Of the four I bought for $28 each, only two are still working.
The two that are broken just blink the "error" lamp at me. Swapping toner and drum from one of the working units does not make either of the broken printers work.
I have one of these. Got it from Officeworks last year for ~$30. It's not worth much more than that, but it does the job and it's been extremely reliable. I don't know if it's the printer or my PC or what, but it really doesn't like printing PDF's straight from the internet. They're fine if you download them and print them though.
but it really doesn't like printing PDF's straight from the internet
No wonder !!!
It looks like the HL-1210W has 32MB of memory, so it's not just the wireless that's extra…
HL-L2340DW supports double-side prints. Is it worth the extra $?
If that is important too you, it's probably worth it. It also has a larger sheet capacity according to the specs.
Mine does manual 2 sided printing, which is fine as I don't often need it…
Just purchased Fuji Xerox DocuPrint P265DW Wireless Mono Laser Printer $78(after targeted ebay offer), wifi, airprint, google cloud print, 2400 x 600 dpi, Automatic 2 sided printing and 32MB.
Choose Fuji Xerox DocuPrint M225DW $139, if you want scanner.
But don't Fuji Xerox laser printers come with microchip to prevents resetting of the toner cartridge?
When their toner only cost $20 for 2.6k pages, it doesnt matter to me.
I have older version for printing invoices. Have been on Special for $35 at Officeworks many times
Very reliable printer but very basic (no auto double side, literally just a printer)
Yeah, I'm pretty dirty that mine won't make a decent cappucino…
They're priced to be cheaper than buying the replacement toner. I'm up to my second one now.
Careful, the resident greenies will be in here promptly to berate you on behalf of local councils for landfill related issues…
Even it's cheaper to buy a printer, you should not do it as it will generate a lot of material waste.
They're priced to be cheaper than buying the replacement toner.
A new one does not come with a full toner…
Man, how do these things go UP in price over the course of a year??
I paid $28 after ebay sale discount LAST June, ffs. Even the regular sale price was only $35??
Wth?
Ran out of ink for HP Deskjet 2540 All-in-one $15 …from TGG.
Not sure if this is better option than getting ink for 2540..hmmm
