I'm a cyclist and at $3.37 each, this is a great deal if you wish to stock up. As a true OzBargainer, I found an extra item (on sale of course) to bring the cost up to $80 and scored the free shipping :)

  • Make a lot of shanghai's with 20 tubes.

  • Will these fit a 25mm road tyre?

    • +2

Yes/No - I've done it before but here's my 2 cents: These are the thin tubes more suited for the 23mm tyres. I have 23's on my Roadie and 25's on my TT - I probably wouldn't put these in the 25's because the tube would stretch too much trying to achieve adequate pressure…

  • +1

What would you possibly need 20 of these before unless reselling them

    • +2

For when you get 20 punctures.

      • +1

Time to think about either getting better tyres, or not riding in the thorn-patch.

    • +1

Exactly. Whenever I have a puncture with tubes I'll patch a tube and reuse it rather than chuck it out.

      • +3

I'd rather pay $3.37 for a brand new tube than spend the time and materials to apply a patch.

        • This. And also the annoying slow deflation when the glue didn't work as expected.

        • Patching is typically quicker than replacing, as long as you can see where it is - e.g. thorn still in the tyre.
You don't need to remove the wheel or tyre.

  • Thanks CheckoutChap. I will hold off then. It seems more people are going for 25-28mm road tyres these days for comfort.
