Is this site called OZbargain or JVbargain? I am sure we are allowed to post non-JV specific deals? lol

@All Blacks NZ: Don't mind him All Blacks, he is just a negative nancy

I am sure we are allowed to post our opinions on deals in the comments section.

@jv: yeah but not the ones noone cares about

        • There is Collectables (1)

I guess if you can't tell the difference between a question and a statement there's not much more I can say to you…

@jv: "Is it only for appliances?" I guess the question mark misled me.

Tried from something in Mobile Phone category (not included) and it didnt work, so only items that fall into the categories listed in the OP

      • +1

        Yeah didn't work with computer.

  • Weird. They also had 15% off Instore over the weekend

    • where does it say or show that?
      15% off everything?

      • -1

No. Some appliances. Remember seeing it in the newspaper

    • +1

Still on today on certain lines. On their home page.

  • No TV :(

  • That'd be right. Got a Dyson V6 Absolute on Saturday from them for $599 (price matched Appliances Online).

Don't suppose I can claim that difference with their price guarantee? It would pay for a Chromecast.

Edit: Looks like it excludes ebay and possibly themselves.

    • +2

Could always refund it and then buy it again? ;)

Or, if you have a credit card that offers price protection, you might be able to claim that.

      • +3

It's opened and used but I guess I could buy another and return it under the old receipt (or that's what you meant?). A bit shady. I doubt the credit card price protection would cover an ebay discount either. :(

It's not a huge amount of money (about $50) but every bit counts.

        • +2

Actually that's probably a better idea to return it under the old receipt!

$50 better in your hands than theirs

        • @philhawthorne:
Looks like they don't support change of mind refunds either. Oh well. Will keep an eye out for any better deals in the next 30 days.

        • price protection CC will cover it

        • @aldoduco:
          Thanks

And… double balls. V8's are now on the Australian website today. I decided I wasn't going to wait any longer for them.

        • @Shonky:
It depends on which store u goto…some are really good about it. Others are a holes. So try a different store if the one you bought it from refuses…

        • @KupoHo:
Not really worth the risk of buying another one and having them refuse a refund for $50. Just annoying that I didn't wait. I had procrastinated for quite a few weeks but decided to just go with it on the weekend.

The V8 availability just rubs it in further (and RRP is cheaper on the absolute too for some reason)… Not that it's likely there'd be much in the way of discounts available though.

My credit card price insurance only covers >$75 differences and I need a catalogue anyway so doubt ebay will be covered.

        • @Shonky:
I meant u could ring another store and check if they refund for change of mind.

I bought a washing machine and it had rusty water and they refused to refund it from the original store (saying it was normal. I understand clear water from testing being normal but brown water????). Rang a diff store and they said as long as u didn't use it, we accept refunds….when it was brought to the store, they were like, it's still new (still had the base foam on it) and refunded it without a fuss…

That being said, the absolute is great!!! So its still worth the price you paid :)

  • BEP920BSS - The Breville coffee machine duo with the Smart Grinder comes in at $1100… Any thoughts on the likelihood of it falling cheaper than this?

Also, it's the same machine as the BES920, is that correct?

    • Same machine.. Was crazy cheap towards the end of last year.. but even at $1100 it's a score

      • That's what I'm thinking, the machine on its own sometimes doesn't fall that low. Price history websites have it hovering mostly around the $1300-$1400 mark.

Dyson V6 Absolute is a good price at $550 C&C

  • Can anyone recommend a good steam cleaner? Thinking about;

Not part of the sale but my research lead me to Haan as the best bang for buck.

      • CYMONN, have you got one yourself, or is this plainly through research?

        • My brother did most of the research and got one 2 yrs ago. Loves it.

I did less research but came to a similar conclusion and ordered 2 days ago.

Better than 10% but not as good as 20%. Been waiting to buy a dishwasher. Not available for click and collect though. All stores show no stock.

    • Should work on delivery as well, but that also costs extra $$$

      • I don't mind the $43 delivery but will they just leave it outside my door if no ones home?

        • +1

Pretty sure last time I ordered a TV they rang and organised a delivery time beforehand, but it may be store specific, not sure?

        • @jh1000:

I have messaged them. This is shipped from Fisher Paykel - not via store. Let's see whtat they say. Thanks for your help.

  • Be OzB, spend $6,666.66

  • Last time around I bought a fridge. Be aware of the T's and C's of ebay purchase delivery conditions. The contract courier delivered to the front of house and no further, stated its and eBay pruchase so he got less $ for delivery. Was a pretty grumpy guy, but I dont blame him if he was earning less. At least I had the trolley and manpower to get my fridge inside. If you are unsure, when the local store arranges delivery, thats the time to confirm it. Enjoy.

I bought a very large Samsung via a 20% off ebay deal a while back from TGG. It is 150 odd kg so no chance of me getting it up the stairs. I did have to pay extra but it was all easily arranged with the store who sub contract it to a delivery and installation company.

    • From recollection I think the good guys online has 2 options for delivery…literally to your door or premium where they unpack, install and take the cardboard box with them. Think the latter was an extra $15? Might be best to select collect in store then ring the store and arrange delivery if eBay store only offers the first option.

      • I paid something like $150-180. Yes it was quite a lot but it took two big guys over an hour to unpack it, remove the doors, negotiate it up the stairs (which was not an easy job at all), reassemble the doors etc and install it. There was no way I could have done it. This was a $2400 680l fridge though.

        • Wow that seems exxie! Our fridge was delivered by Harvey Norman and there was only one guy but he had to dismantle the doors to get it through the hallway door. Think he charged $100. But our dining table was delivered by 2 guys and it took all of 5min and they charged $130…so who bloody knows hahaha

        • @KupoHo:
Yeah I baulked initially but like I say, no other real option. Getting it up the stairs was almost a failure with a right hand turn being nearly impossible.

  • irons not included.. and the wait continues

    • +7

You could say your waiting has… in-creased.

      • it took me a day to understand your comment..
i was wondering if i made a grammatical mistake.. my bad

        :)

  • I just purchased a Dyson Animal handstick and clicked "in store pick up"

Do I just do a screen print then go to the store I picked, show them my print out, pay and pick it up?

    • +1

Generally you pay online, then take printout particularly the PayPal order number seems important and some ID and they hand over the goods.

      • Cool, thanks.

    • They will email you when it's ready for pickup AND should phone you as well. After that all they need is some ID when you turn up.

  • +1

Recently purchased the DC45, happy with it. but considering an upgrade now.

Whats the Differences between the V6 ranges and how much of a step up is it from the DC45?

    • +1

We have the V6, Great model although I don't like how you have to hold the power button down the whole time, for the differences head to Dyson website

    • +1

You can also go into a GoodGuys store and demo the V6 range if you want.

    • +1

Compared to just the V6 HS model:

      • V6 HS is more than 50% stronger than the DC45
      • Picks up more, quicker and effectively
      • Has a larger turbine head.
      • The filter is easier to get to.
      • Bin capacity canister is also slightly bigger.
    • +2

I've had the DC45 for almost 4 years before I picked up the V6 over a year ago. The difference is significant in regards to real world use. Picks up a crap tonne more dust/ dirt. Suction strength is very obvious between the both, and most definitely louder. Although I still use both handhelds vacuums for its convenience factor (we have two kitties so we vacuum often) I still use the bagged Miele for a real thorough clean every week. But that topic has been done to death so I won't go on. Hope it helps you.

      • +1

Lol, +1 for the metric unit of measurement. Anyone know how many SL's to the CT?

  • Anything on steam iron?

  • no headphones

  • Looks like washing machines aren't included either..

Didn't work for delivery on the one I tried and throws an error at checkout if I try C&C

  • Anyone used their $50 eBay voucher with this? I'm assuming u can't..

    • yeah - guess you can't.

    • How do I access my voucher… completely forgot about that!!!?

  • not such a great discount, and not store wide.
Dyson gear has been cheaper from them in the past.

  • +2

The Dyson V8 is being released next month. Expect the V6 to be even cheaper!

    • +2

It's available to order on Dyson's website now. Appeared today I think. I'm a bit annoyed having just purchased a V6. I would have liked the extra runtime.

      • Still only 7 mins at max power :(

        • Yeah I used to be a Max Power kinda guy but really normal is usually good enough and for general vacuuming is pretty good. I just did a whole living room, stairs, front entry with a V6 Absolute (about 15 minutes). Doubling that they claim would be quite a difference for me. I'm interested to know how exactly they are getting the better life - just a big capacity battery?

        • @Shonky: Different battery technology with a more efficient chemical formulation in it. They acquired a battery company a little while back to get the new design, I think. The V8 motor's also a bit more efficient, from the look of it.

        • @cjmac:
Thanks. No doubt they will have changed the plastics and probably the charging electronics too to make them incompatible i.e. I can't just buy an upgraded battery. Dyson seem good at making some parts not very interchangeable. Oh well..

My 2 cents is call up the Appliances Online and get them to price match.
I used them recently and their service is stellar!!!!

    • Its too late for me now I already ordered yesterday, but do Appliances Online price beat or just match?

  • +2

Any thoughts on a good microwave to pick up from this deal? I've still got a hand-me-down that is going on 9 years old and could do with replacing. Current one is an LG and it's been fine, but I hear Sharp is still a good brand. Happy to pay a bit more for something that will last, but don't need top of the line.

  • Is the Dyson turbo power head spinning thingy good value at $130 down to $110? Can it be had cheaper elsewhere?

    • +1

Dyson Accessories very very rarely drop down in price in stores so even at $20 is a good deal if you are in need of one.

  • no washing machines :(

  • Been wanting a new kettle and sandwich maker for a while now. Glad I found this deal. Thanks. =]
