    Inverter/panel models?

For anyone thinking this is a bargain, read this first:

    https://www.solarquotes.com.au/cheapsystems.html

  • Is inverter compatible with tesla?

    • +1

      No.

Tesla is a gimmick. Sure it looks good but will not save you money or deliver much power.

Currently the few people buying Tesla's are the crowd who have so much money they don't care. It's more for show.

There are other more capable and cheaper battery options on the market.

The only good thing coming from the Tesla Powerwall is that it is generating interest.

      • +1

reminds me of a certain phone out there… same features as other phones but as much as triple the price!

haha, that being said i am an iphone user.

      • -1

Saying it is a gimmick because it is expensive doesn't make any sense.

More capable batteries on the market? This company has world-leading battery chemistry. These batteries are produced in what will be the world's largest battery factory, once the factory is all complete.

        • +1

The Tesla Powerwall can only supply around 2kW of continuous power (3.3kW peak). Other batteries can manage 4.6kW. Peak time in a household will have loads well above 3.3kW.

It has 6.4kWh of storage. This is a fairly small amount of storage. I've monitored households with 10kWh worth of batteries (8kWh useable) and in most instances it's only just enough or not quite enough to get a house through the night.

The Tesla Powerwall and accessories required is currently the most expensive battery option on the market. The return on investment will mean that by the time you have paid the system off it would have already died. Try and tell me you've had a phone that the battery has lasted 10 years? My iPhone's battery is nearly dead after not even 2 years of use.

Batteries currently no matter what brand will not save you money. If you are lucky you will break even by the time they reach their end of life.

There are other options available that are more cost effective and provide a faster return while also delivering more power. Options from manufacturers such as LG or BYD - the largest manufacturer of Lithium batteries and electric vehicles in the world.

If you are in this to save money, now is not the time. The next 12 months should bring prices down as more options are entering the market.

If you are in this for other reasons such as you would like more energy independence, I would recommend researching other options as 6.4kWh of storage will hardly make you independent.

Chemistry and capability are two different things.

        • @shamona1:

Congrats, you're arguing against yourself. I never said I thought it was cheap or financially returning a good ROI.

I'm saying that it isn't a gimmick. The battery system is expensive to install compared to grid prices but that's the situation now. Doesn't make the product any less performing.

        • @watwatwat:

It's being promoted to save money when in fact it doesn't.

You won't recoup your outlay before it dies and you need another one.

          That is a gimmick.

        • @shamona1:

That doesn't make it a gimmick. Some people want to run these systems to help the environment and not make money.

      An extract from that article:

“Mr Patel, the sole Director of the companies, was issued a personal fine of $20,000 for his involvement, and has been restrained for a period of 3 years from the date of this order (Jan14) in trade or commerce in connection with the supply or possible supply of solar panels, or in connection with the promotion of supply or use of solar panels, from being knowingly concerned in or party to the making by a corporation of any representation to the effect that those solar panels are made in Australia, when they are not.”

Steer well clear of this shoddy operation. They aren't legally meant to be in the market!

They would have changed directors etc but I'm sure he is still behind the seens. Thnaks for the warning, I'll be sticking well clear.

really hate the way solar systems are marketed.
3kw system, but it only has 10x250w panels.

    • Sounds like the way HDD are marketed.

  • don't think the maths checks out either. Unless they are a cutting edge 375kW panel, 8 x 250W (the more industry standard) is 2kW only.

  • To the two comments above, the ad states "10x 250W panels", and then "add 2 more 250W panels for $1". So it is 12x 250W panels to make 3kW.

OP: you should update the price in the title to $2642 (only $1, but still).

    • Original post had 8 panels stated, not the 10, you can check the revisions. Hence above comments are questioning the 8.

  • As the age old expression goes, you get what you pay for.

    Do your research first.

    Need I say any more.

Bring on the battery storage deals.

Stay away from this mob. My friend almost got into their trap.

  • +2

Stay clear of Eurosolar. I contacted them when looking for quotes. They lied about what panels and inverters they were quoting for. When official quote was presented information was missing. When queried they then said it was cheaper panels/inverter then originally stated.
After accepting another companies quote and informing Eurosolar I was no longer looking they still persisted to call and sms me.

  • shonky as hell! take this - from me ma'am!
