If in Vic, would it apply gov rebate?

    • +4

annoyingly, these prices usually already include rebate

Are you sure? That would be like posting deals with the cashback amount taken off which isn't allowed on here?

        • not sure, but it's standard (shady imo) industry practice in SA

          Same everywhere in AU, shady

  • I paid about 11k for an equivalent from Tindo solar in SA recently, though was for 18 panels. The micro inverters are expensive.

    • What are the benefits of micro inverters?

      • If you have shading then only those panels are impacted, not all on the same string.

For my soon to be installed system, it also meant i didnt have to worry about lengthy DC cabling (im in a 3 story property) as the DC to AC conversion occurs on the roof.

Elimnates single point of failure - if one fails, the rest of the system keeps working (although the inverse of this is there are more components that could fail). From the options i looked at, micro inverters generally also had longer warranties than string invertors.

I also liked the individual panel monitoring that this enables both as a data nut, and for troubleshooting purposes if needed.

Not the right answer for all installations, and cost is higher, so do your research.

  • Good price, paid $9k just a couple of years ago.
