I wouldn't have a clue if this is cheap cheap or not.

I'd say good pun, but I don't want to egg you on.

You can compare this one with those sold in eBay.

      it's chicken feed. (-;

  • Can I use this for my Cats?

    • +14

Yes, but you have to mince them up well. Dry food is preferred for chooks.

  • +5

I might fill it with kitchen scraps and put it outside as a feeding station for kids hunting Pokemons

  • Do you have a sale on any pig feeding troughs?

Are chickens smart enough to stand on the ledge to open the lid?

I doubt my chickens would be able to do it.

    • +3

They are not that dumb. Just show the smart one how it works (the one that keeps escaping) and the others will copy.

      • +2

So chickens are behaving like higher order apes and humans now?

    • +1

Yep, I used a peg to hold mine open for a few days and slowly moved the peg so it closed more, they figured it out easy.

      • That's a great idea.

It's a good price, I bought one for ~$100. It's sitting in the shed since the old chickens were to dopey to work out how to use it, once they get the chop I will try it on some new chickens. :)

    • Maybe they are not heavy enough to open the lid…….
Once fat enough from eating, they might be able to do it….🐔🐔

      • They are pretty fat but were too scared to stand on the platform.

  • Is this a viable business given that a roasted chicken in Coles costs 10 bucks?

    • +3

You have chickens for the free range eggs, how much are free range eggs?

    • Think it's 8 bucks now, recent price drop :)

      • I think I paid about $8 for the first time in 18 months last week….a fox got our 3 chickens a couple of weeks ago, we were getting at least 18 eggs a week and they were far superior to supermarket free range. I had the dine-a-chook and royal rooster feeders and feeders are a must to stop rodents. Mine stopped the cockatoos however not the brush turkeys, they are pests. Anyway this seems a good price if it works. You come out in front easy with at least 3 chickens a feeder and the feed costs over buying supermarket free range eggs. Neighbours don't mind looking after them whilst your away as well!

    • Automatic feeders is one of the reasons why you can get a roasted chicken for ten dollars from Coles.

  • Won't stop the Cockies or Ravens, they're so smart it's scary…

  • This is a good deal, I paid about 70 for a very similar model a couple of years ago.

    • Yep. This price is poultry.

  • I've got a friend with some chickens. No chicken chook poultries though. Pity.

hahahah clicked on the deal / link above and was told that that domain doesn't exist any more.. guess it's not so much a good buy as a goodbye!

    • "This Domain Name Has Expired" what a cock-up!

  • My brain is fried from these terrible yolks.

  • My dopey AF australorp would take her foot off the step and decapitate herself.

  • No good for the sabongeros, you need to keep them separated!

  • I feed the chooks regularly.
