I'm hunting for the cheapest Xiaomi Mi Pad and thought this would be worth a mention.
Please note that this is coming up as presell, which likely means stock is arriving soon. Site says Pre-sale (until): 07-31-2016 and Dispatch: Ships after 07-31-2016.

Price is marked at AU$ 193.61

Make sure you create a new account to receive a 10% discount code, and also verify your account to receive points that can be used as credit at checkout.

$170 shipped seems like a great price, possibly cheapest here yet? This also features a Tegra K1, and expandable memory. I'm after one of these for my birthday at the beginning of August, so I am happy to wait for stock.

Stuck on android 4.4 for the last 2 years, doesn't sound good to me.

If this was stock Android with the promise of rapid availability of security updates, I'd order it now.

    • No CyanogenMod?

    • It's got expandable storage, the second gen doesn't have SD card slot. I think this might still be popular for that very reason.

On 4.4 since its first appearance. Don't be fooled by many updates it had, all were small bug fixes, but the same terrible old 4.4 after years. Good hardware for the price, but software really sucks, worst memory management. About custom ROMs, there are some 4.4 out there, but not a single stable one. The reason is simple: the device isn't popular, and more importantly, Xiaomi refuses to release kernel source, even util now.

I have one device, and mostly use it for reading books and watching movies (the screen is nice). It could have done much much more.

I can't see why anyone would pay more than $100, but that's just me

Ehhh me too, lots of cheap android 5 tabs out there now.

      • reading these comments make me wonder why i am considering a $400 samsung galaxy tab s2 9.7 or 8.0 wifi for $50 cheaper

        • huh, what does that mean? can you source a tab s2 for $121.04?

        • @Ozimodo: no I meant cheaper than the 9.7 ie $350ish
