Wowee! What a mission! I feel like one of those coupon "moms" on TV. I've planned to go with the family to Cairns (from Sydney). Only two tickets seemed to work per flight so I found a flight, began a Jetstar pricebeat chat and once they decided the flights were comparable, I booked with Tiger to prevent anyone snatching them, then paid Jetstar.
Got two flights with Tiger SYD to CNS return for $132 incl. fees & taxes
and two with Jetstar (pricebeat) SYD to CNS return for $104 (fees waived, woohoo).
then another Jetstar flight (pricebeat) the day before, SYD to CNS for $52.20$288 for return flights for 5 to Cairns? BARGAIN.

Just curious as to why you didn't book all of your flights through Jetstar. Once the Jetstar online staff confirmed the flights were eligible for the pricebeat, couldn't you have just booked all four flights with them? I mean, the Tiger sale flights may sell out during your chat with Jetstar, but that shouldn't matter, should it?

Tiger was only selling something like 2 fares per flight. We couldn't get more than 2 on the same flight unfortunately, so we've done it a bit all over the place as you can see. It's sketchy but it does the job and the flights aren't too far apart :)
Although, in hindsight, I could've started a second chat and got them to pricebeat the same flights again, but it was a bit risky given the rate they were selling out at.
thanks for the boast post - it's only 8oC (feelings like 1.5oC) today in Melbourne….the thought of Cairns has increased that to feeling like at least 5oC

Wow, you have to be quick. Was browsing Coffs to Melbourne in March and found a return flight for $29 each way. Checked dates with friends and went back and the whole month sale has gone.
Usually their sale is till 4pm only, so next time please keep an eye on the things.
