A better deal is not buying this rubbish film, and instead buying an $11 ticket via optus ;)

Agreed. Worst movies ever, don't ever download it!

Essentially $18 for the Bluray. Not too bad, I actually liked the movie though and the director's cut fixed a lot of the problems other than the one where it's even longer.

    • Would I be better off seeing the original cut first or director's cut?

      • +2

        No.

      • +1

        director's …..

      • Stick to the comic books, avoid the movie at all costs (even if it's free).

    • Actually, it's essentially $8 for the Blu-ray as the free Suicide Squad ticket is valid up to $21.00. An amazing deal!

      • +1

if you are an ozbargainer, you would have access to optusperks which means $11 normal tickets.

          Yes

Should have mentioned this is the Ultimate Edition which includes about 30 minutes more footage compared to the theatrical release.

    • +2

The question would be "do you want to sit and watch a horrible movie for an extra 30 minutes?"

      • +1
        1. Igts not even horrible, thats just the ol internet circlejerk.
        2. The extra scenes make the movie MUCH better.
        • -1
          1. Nope, it's still horrible
          2. Maybe, but see 1

          @SBOB:

you definitely haven't seen the director's cut then. Move along

        • +1

@spawnpoint: He definitely hasn't. The directors cut just makes sense compared to the theatrical release.

        • @spawnpoint:

the directors cut is the only version i've seen.

        • +1

@spawnpoint: I have. The additional 30 minutes doesn't make it a good movie. It just makes it less bad.

The T's and C's listed on the deal link say it doesn't have to be preorder at all. If you order online after July 20 which is when the movie has already been released you still get the voucher. Also if you buy in store your receipt includes a voucher code too.

Good deal I was going to buy anyway in store on release day

    • It is confusing. It says pre-order by 15/8 when the actual release of the title is 20/7.

Buying instore after release and getting the redemption code then would be much easier. But that wouldn't be a pre-order then would it? Hmmmm.

      • nor is it a pre-order if you order online after the 20th but before 15/08 :P

        from jb hi fi:

        1) Order Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice on Blu-Ray including the Digibook Blu-Ray, Steelbook Blu-ray, 3D Blu-Ray, 4K Ultra HD and Graphic Novel Blu-Ray at JB Hi-Fi before August 15th 2016

Nothing saying it has to be a Pre-Order just order..

        2) All online pre-orders placed before July 20 2016

Thats fair enough it is a preorder if you order it before July 20 which is release date but..

        3) orders placed online on or after July 20

After July 20 release it wont be a pre-order anymore just an order..

What is more confusing is it says

        4) All Blu-ray purchases in–store from July 18 will receive a redemption code on their physical receipt at point of purchase.

So how can you purchase it in store from July 18 when it doesnt come out until July 20? Are they going to have it for sale earlier in store (in hindsight they usually do break street date anyway which is why I will buy it in store)

        • It's a mess LOL

All I can say is, Suicide Squad better be good after this.

    • so what youre saying is i can refund it after watching SS?

    • Just picked up my copy I ordered Wednesday.
Completely forgot about the free movie ticket.
Jyst checked the receipt and it's not the normal printed receipt but an A4 sized printed receipt. Nothing on it, nor the electronic receipt about the free ticket…
They better provide one when I go back to get it!

  • This is in their latest catalogue. Doesn't mention has to be a pre-order.

The T&C state "*Offer valid from 18/07/2016 to 15/08/2016. Entrants must purchase a Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice Blu-Ray including the Digibook Blu-Ray, Steelbook Blu-ray,3D Blu-Ray, 4K Blu-ray and Graphic Novel at participating JB Hi-Fi stores during the offer validity period to receive a bonus movie voucher.". Specifically says in-store up until August.

Real shame they're persisting with Snyder.

The ultimate version offers absolutely nothing to the story and doesn't improve it in anyway.

Instead, the desert scene makes a little more sense and we see Lois running around searching for answers we have already figured out.

    • +1

you figured out the african woman lied about superman in a scene that didnt exist in the Theatrical cut and later on admitted her deeds to the senator right before she gets blown up before she could resolve the public outcry against superman, by explosives superman didnt see due to lead lining that was explained in a deleted scene?

  • Pity they are not giving the tix away with the 4K bluray.

    • +1

It actually says it does in the T&C's and here on the actual product page:

      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/movies-tv-shows/movies-tv-shows-on…

It's $39.98 and has a more attractive cover than just those two doofus's.

      • Changed your post a bit :) Linked to all the blu-rays on option as well

        • +1

          Cool, good work.

      • Yes, the two most iconic superhero are unfortunately - doofus.

        • The characters are/were cool, sadly both the actors are complete tools.

Marvel have at least chosen cool actors (even uber-cool ones RDJ and SLJ) to go with their cool characters. Well, the exception being Loki whose actor now seems to have rapidly and completely lost any cool he did have over the past month or so with all this infantile Taylor Swift nonsense.

  • also the official link from the promoter http://www.bvspromotion.com.au/ returns an empty page!

    • +1

Because you can't claim yet… Not till the 18th

      • fair enough but they shouldnt list a URL which is not live yet (or not advise the link won't be accessible until July 18) thats pretty amateur!

        • No, it's not. The website to claim is only listed on the Ts & Cs, not in the separate blu-ray listings, which if you notice at the very top says:

*Offer valid from 18/07/2016 to 15/08/2016

        • @Spackbace: well amatuer from the promoter then. They've got a URL being advertised so if you click on it should at least have something like promo starts 18th July please return to this page then etc..

Also the fact that full T's & C's are listed on the promoter website including the participating cinemas where you can use the voucher.. given that the promo is open as of now and if you preorder the movie now you would want to know these details so no it doesnt state the promo starts from July 18/20 whatever the date is.. it starts now so really yes that link provided should work as of now to give the full information at the very least

    • Is this promotion run by JB Hifi or is it by the distributors?
e.g. can you purchase this from somewhere else and still claim?

      • +1

I believe you need a code that will be printed on the JB HiFi receipt. Presumably other stores won't provide a code.

        • Ahh so its JB run promotion i guess. haha all good

  • If we see even 25% off blu-ray over the coming weeks, this would be a bargain :)

  • The 4K is cheaper at Sanity. Is the promo only for JB?

  • Annoying you have to front up to the box office to claim the ticket. I much prefer buying online and picking my seats a good few hours before the riff raff turn up and get the crappy seats and then try to steal mine.

    • Where does it state this?

Also there is no link yet to which cinemas will honour the voucher? I assume that is on www.bvspromotion.com.au which is currently displaying a blank page..

      • Sorry should have clarified that is for Hoyts (which is my local).

anyhow, the T&Cs linked above outline each cinema you can claim etc in clause 10.

        • ok yeah sorry didnt see that yet.. that sucks

    • In reality, I'm yet to see a Hoyts movie ticket that didn't have the details on it to claim online

      • I've been give gift vouchers (one was even purchased via their website) where I couldn't redeem them online. Haven't had one for about a year though, so maybe it's changed.

  • +2

Allow me to provide an alternative to watch Batman vs Superman. Free as well:

    http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/6a00d8341c652b5…

Better off paying for the ticket for Suicide Squad (via Optus Perks or Hoyts/Event cinema movie money tickets) separately.

    • Swwet! 403 Forbidden is my favourite!

  • -1

Better off just buying 2 tickets to Suicide Squad

  • I'll pay $29.98 for JB to put a copy of BvS through a shredder.

  • +1

Just spoke to someone in store they are going to let the Blu Ray start selling from Monday (18th) even though official street date is 20th

That clears up confusion about the two dates. They must have a good understanding with WB that they will break street date. Normally they will only advertise not released until official date but unadvertised in store they will let it go..

confirmed will get the voucher code on receipt if bought in store on Monday

  • So I have just gone to redeem this ticket with event cinemas..

firstly the T&C say the voucher is valid up to the value of $21 but then Event say there is a surcharge for VMAX / 3D etc..

the full price adult ticket of movie is $21.50 but when I use the voucher, the surcharge is $3

I mean still a cheap movie, but in theory I should only be paying 50c extra for the ticket!

Why bother saying the voucher is worth $21 but then charge extra for VMAX.. it's not worth $21 for VMAX screenings.. and just say voucher is good for up to $21 if the session is regular lol..

    • There's always a surcharge for Vmax, and 3D. I never would've expected to have that included in the price…
