Came across this when looking to re-contract. Looks like it's for existing and new customers.
For $60 you get unlimited calls and text and 10gb data per month and also 1 month free access fee.

That's a big 'IF', depending on your location. :)
Yep, I've found Optus acceptable but there's no question Telstra is better (recent outages excluded)
Telstra sh**s all over optus 10 km from perth cbd.
optus is 100% pathetic in our area
Is it possible to get another sim to share the data on another device?
Yeah I had the galaxy tab deal from last year and still 12 months left on the contract for it even though my phone contract was up. So recontracted to this and actually get 11.1gb
Awesome, thanks!
Good deal if you need Telstra. Otherwise the Optus deal is way better, I signed up using my Unidays code; $36 pm for the same plan and coverage is fine all over ACT.
I got my wife re-contracted on this one in May, except that I managed to get it down to $55/month after a few days trying to deal with their online chat sales team
25% cheaper version of the exact same plan… https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/256316
Yeh but that one says 24 months, this is 12 months.
I personally would prefer the shorter contract
Ahhhh. I didn't notice the difference in contract length…
Do we get the Google play credit with BYO plans ?
No
In Sydney Metro Area I've found it doesn't really make a difference who you go with, Vodafone is the winner for me, having tried all three major networks over the last 3 years.
Optus coverage is so poor in Northern Sydney that Optus had to relocate their offices west to Macquarie Park.
But what happens if you want to travel out of metro Sydney, that is the whole idea of a mobile phone after all.
Thanks OP - just completed a re-contract from the Go Mobile BYO 70 (which I also re-contracted to last year from a similar OzBargain post) to the $60 Large plan - with a month free as well!
Can you use add a phone as an add on MRO?
Has anyone managed to get Optus' BYO 10GB plan for the same rate on Telstra?
Finally upgraded my 3.5gb telstra plan $700 in calls and text for $55 a month.
With the free month it works out to be the same price, cheers OP.
I think the $40 plan is good. I hardly ever go over 2gb and it saves me $180 in 12 months over my last 55 plan. Thanks OP.
They didn't want to give it to me because it says 'new customers' but I said I'd go to Optus, and it didn't bother me to go if that's how they were going to be, so I was transferred and it was done.
Telstra $50 prepaid with 8gb is pretty good
also gives you $50 each month to spend in the google play store or google Play Music (or spotify??)
Can you post a link for this pls? I can't see such a pre paid deal…
https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/prepaid-mobiles/preā¦
just their normal offer 4gb + 4gb.
I'm guessing this doesn't let you use the $70 towards Play store credit….Maybe only $10?
So what you saying is if i recharge $50 per month I will get unlimited call/text and 8gigs of data and on top of that I also get $50 of Google Play credits?

Yes Correct (28 days so 4 weeks…not monthly)
I think the bonus data will end this month. I know it's been continually extended since January, but Telstra thanks stopped sending me texts a few months ago and 25 July has been set for ages.
@mboardy I'm currently on the encore pack and use my credits only for Google play subscriptions. Can anyone give advice if it's better to be on the $50plan here? That's my usual recharge on Encore. Just worried if it would be a bad choice to change my encore plan as no going back.
No Apple Music… Did they stop that deal?
I just recontracted on this plan - my previous $70/mth BYO promo Apple Music plan will continue for further 6 months but that promo is gone. :(
Still on a (only briefly offered) Vodafone offer of 10GB for $5 with no contract length. I'd move to Telstra at $50 for 10GB.
Fyi if you don't mind using Optus' network they have a similar deal for $40/month https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/254566
This one works out to $55 / month.. Not bad tbh
