  • Just curious as I have no idea how to spot a good coffee machine, how does this compare to the ones on the myer catalogue?

      G'day goofy,

The Delonghi Nespresso uses capsules, whereas (I'm assuming you are looking at the $139 Sunbeam machine) the Sunbeam uses standard ground coffee.

The Lavazza Modo Mio for $279 also uses the same capsule system as the Delonghi, except it is brand new (of course) from Myers.

Seeing you are in Sydney, the capsules are readily available from Myers, whereas I'm in Adelaide I have to order online as Myers don't stock them here.

Compared to the standard machines, convenience wise you can make a fresh brew within a couple of minutes with the capsule system, less mess (coffee grounds are inside the capsule and is ejected into a holder when finished) and cleaning up but costs approximately 55c - 80c a cup depending on capsule flavours.

      • wow thanks savememoney, that was very helpful. :)

  • Wow… $159 including shipping to NSW… it's a pretty good price, even it's refurbished. It has 6 months warranty anway…

  • Just note that with this machine you need to use the capsule which is $0.58 each and this makes one cup. I have this system at home and it taste very good but just make sure you know that it doesn’t take normal coffee powder from the supermarket

These are quite a good model for the price, but be aware you're limited to buying the capsule coffee which in my experience isn't as good as a lot of the stuff you can buy as beans. For a machine like this, you're paying a lot more for average coffee.

Think along the lines of printers being sold quite cheaply, but you then have to fork out tons for the ink!

  • As per Nespresso website, no cup warming tray on this model. Still good bargain though, I've ordered one for myself.

  • Good price.

  • Sold out!

  • Damn! Missed out :(
